    Roll Up Roll Up!

So on the 1001 opposite Krungthai Bank, outside Maejo Uni, is a little stall that opens around 8am and will sell you (a maximum of) five Cannabis seedlings for Bt30 piece.

No other details such as plant gender, whether there are any checks or anything. I'm waiting for everyone to pile up there this morning since someone posted it in one of the expat groups yesterday.

Added: But now you can't because some uppity Thai assaulted a police officer because they ran out.

Maejo University Temporarily Stops Selling Marijuana Seeds After Hot-headed Man Hurts Officers Because He Can't Buy Them In Time For Someone Else - RAJACREATOR

I wonder how many people are going to find that out the hard way this morning?

Yea it is getting a bit ridiculous now, especially with the apparent 'overdosing' stories. If they are going to legalise it, they have to regulate it. Growers have to register, there products randomly sampled and their operation inspected. Shops can only buy from registered growers etc etc all taxed I might add. The growers might have been better off it being underground, who knows, we will have to see how many people take to smoking weed.
One should listen twice as much as one speaks

Let's face it, it wasn't exactly hard to find before.

The only real benefit of what they've done is

    - It should be easier to find the good stuff
    - It should drive prices down

But yes, they're missing a great opportunity here, when you think a state like California (pop. <40m) earned at least $1.3Bn in taxes from it last year.
