Lawyers in Chiang Mai for Immigration/Visa and Tenancy agreements

I need to start planning for my move to CM at the end of the year (assuming conditions don't worsen).

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good English-speaking lawyer that can handle the above?

Or does anyone have any horror stories to recommend against any?

    Cheers.

Are you minted? Have money to throw away?

Immigration/Visa and Rentals are matters that most expat can handle by themselves.

Hire a lawyer and you'd still have to do most of the work. Passport, signing photocopies etc.

    Indeed.
    Derived from experience.

Is that before or after they start threads asking how to get a job in a kitchen in Thailand?

Most reputable Real Estate agents have staff well equipped to handle their clients other requirements as part of their service.

And it's in their interest to maximise what the customer pays.

    Yeah, I get that one.

^ Just trying to be helpful Harry.

I know of many people who have used Real Estate Agents to handle everything including their accommodation and move to Thailand and they were very happy with the end result.

Ask for a quotation and you may be pleasantly surprised.

Right, most of them. But there are some (please no names here) not so bright, so they need a lawyer.
And only such lawyer who speaks Queen's English. Our 'arry is spoiled by long hours spending by reading TD's (not native) speakers...

That applies to lawyers as well, you can use them for drawing up a contract but don't use them for price negotiations.
Thailand is the country of middle-men's, everybody wants to be one and make a dime based on their position between buyer and seller.

They've all got websites which is handy for indicative numbers. I intend to take a short term lease or AirBnB and take my time to look around - pandemic permitting.

One thing this thread clearly demonstrates is that there is no point in asking anything meaningful here, because I'll get a load of irrelevant waffle from people that can't even answer a simple question.

If he's moving to Thailand then isn't it likely he'll be retired?

With an answer simple enough for Fluke, but apparently eluding you.
