    Chiang Mai resort pretty much been abandoned for 30 years on the Ping River

    Passed it many times never knew it was there !

    There used to be a popular massage place (especially for off duty police officers) right next door to that which closed up about 15 years ago or so. Some of the girls lived in a small building not far from the entrance and they would shout out their names as you walked by.

    You can add the Duangtawan to that as it's shuttered, and by the looks also the Imperial Mae Ping.

    The Meridien might join them judging by the number of lights I saw on each night.

    Imperial Mae Ping and Duangtawan employed hundreds of people and just the tip of the iceberg in regard to unemployment figures in Chiang Mai. Government figures on unemployment look ridiculously low, and recovery is going to take a LONG time.
