    Sankamphaeng Hot Springs

Did some tourist stuff in Chiang Mai - Hit the Sankamphaeng Hot Springs

Now, ‘tis a tourist site but not much of one really. Hot springs so you can cook eggs, soak your feet, mineral bath, massage, kiddie pool. Enjoyed it, a lackadaisical enjoyable experience. Not really a place I would recommend for a tourist, but, it was a nice pleasant venture for a resident.

    Lunch looks incredible.

And those baskets... are they sold there, along with eggs?

Looks like a fun way to spend a day for someone who's not on a rushed tourist schedule.

What kind of eggs are those mottled ones?

    Well lunch looked decent.

Did you get stung for the farang price?

Not sure many residents would bother, tbh.

Are you a resident in CM? Thought you lived elsewhere.

    Quail.

Went to that place 25 years ago, with a special someone. Nice interlude.

    water at 105C ???

    surely not.

at atmospheric pressure it would be super-heated steam at 105C.

I went a couple of times a year when I was a resident of Chiang Mai. It got so crowded, I started going around the corner to Roong Aroon Resort for a hot soak.

I cycle around the area regularly, but always turn right off the highway rather then left for the hot springs.

Some lovely views around the Alpine golf resort area, and not even Thais have worked out a way of charging farang double just for those.

Baskets were free and reusable - collection baskets for used ones.

dual pricing - unknown - I let my Thai contingency handle the financials - works out better that way

Resident of Nonthaburi - family business trip, don't know just what role I play in it

105 C - probably measured at the source of its exit from the ground. You do hear the water boiling as it leaves the ground in a few locations.
