70-odd grand for a three bed villa with private pool doesn't seem three bad to me.
Just as an aside, if you could communicate without this sort of laboured last century bollocks you seem to think is endearing...

    Fook off sybill
Funnily enough I've been looking at property on line since my return.
I intend to invest in the next five years with a view to semi retirement.
Maybe a condo or house South of Hau Hin for a few months of the year combined with a few months oop north at the outlaws farm making it more profitable.
Then back to Blighty for the Summer.
That site Dillinger posted the link to looks good, will give it a proper going over later.

Yeah, DDproperty is good. The map search function is great. It's a Thai website, so Thai prices, but works in English too.

Another option is bank reposessions. To be honest, not sure if a lot of the stuff available are at great prices, but worth a look.

    Krungsri's reposession site is krungsriproperty.com
Downside is that the website itself is shit and the search functions are equally shit. However. Worth a look.
Step by step, inch by inch, piece by piece.

Yep, we need a new fight-club venue.

Ant could be the resident champ in the ring, showing off his chickenlegs.
And me and terry 57 could make occasional guest appearances and slap you around with wet lettuce.
That would be mean, it would be like beating on a child.

Literally. He's a very tiny little man. Angry, but tiny.

What thee riely needs is Tax Exiles two pennies worth on ta subject, Mr Hau Hin himself he is! The font of knowledge on thee quaint seaside town.

Friend of mine has lived happily on Bintabaht street for 10 years near on, loves it and make a good living from his guest house/ bar.
Mind he is a right nutter and had his mug shot on crime watch.

Oh, and - old, bitter, vindictive - like everybody else who disagrees with the crusading wannabe Alt-Left Fuhrer.

Faark you were quick on the draw with a red stroller. That's the first one for this month. Got 4 of you last month. Sterling effort.

Just South of Hua Hin seems to be the place to go for what I want maybe not for anyone else but I want a quiet life away from it all on the coast. Not totally out in the sticks as I want the amenities and a bit of life but still having the chilled out don't give a fuk life that I want.

There's a nice long clean beach the other side of the monkey mountain Khao Takiap, anywhere along that coast up to 10 km south would be a reasonable place to start.
There's an outstanding house right on the beach at the end of the hotels and next to the golf course, a heavy looking Geordie guy owned it when i was last there.
After his house it's pretty much unspoilt for miles.
Only a ten minute drive to the town centre etc.

Loads of villages on the outskirts of HH but many tuk tuks won't go that far so if you've gone for a night out its difficult to get back.

Big fan of the vana nava area as it's close to town and to koh takieb beach.

    Yes those too.

Thanks for the reminder you tiny little old, bitter, vindictive 'man'.

Can add 'likes to dish it out but doesn't like to receive it' in there also.

Has anyone gone the AirBNB route, and, perhaps more crucially, did it work? Or did you get your pants pulled down and buggered into oblivion?

JPPR2 used to live near there when he first joined TD, and related how he was (luckily) renting a nice place, only to find that a neighbour started a chicken farm....with attendant smell, flies, and early morning noise.

Of course, this wouldn't bother your good self. Your mate Withnall has ......er....alternative uses for chickens.

How are you funding your early cessation of 9 - 5 ing?

Once you accustomize yourself to Montclair boxes and 200b Bang Saen hookers it's plain sailing Dave.

Beer n BBQ day all day tomorrow I reckon, just picked-up and marinaded some whisky honey ribs, and some beef kebabs.

Will hit the oven wrapped in foil for a low n' slow cook around 9am after 20+ hrs marinating, then onto the barbie around midday. Thai food: Kor Moo Yang and Gai Yang also being served. Beers being opened around 11am if anyone's around.

Once in a moment of inspired boredom I actually worked out how many chicken deaths I was responsible for over the course of a year. Can't recollect the exact figure now but it was a lot.

If chickens ever become sentient and take over the world I'll be done for genocide.

The Tenasserim Range are just behind, along the Thai Burmese border. Some good biking up that way.
