Good. "The Olde Bell" was a nicer name. Is it the same management?
No, new owners, a Scottish guy called Andy and his Thai partner Boom. Really nice couple.

Oh yeah I forgot it reopened after Pedr left.

Never been in the new one, never seems to have any customers when I walk by.
It seems to do OK, shame Pedr and Beer left but the new owners are great as well.

It's pretty obvious the the Duangtaan is a notch or 2 up quality-wise than Raming Lodge, but for the amount of time I'm gonna be on the hotel grounds didn't make it worth it.
Raming lodge is better than the Duangtawan IMO.Not as good a pool, but better rooms. Also much newer Hotel.

Here ya go Topper, this is a very nice little Gaffer for Teflers on a Budget.

Traveller Inn. 66 loikroh road, just down from the gate. 053-208484-6.

Or pay a bit more and go to Lamphu House. Great live music bar next door also near the gate. both under a K.

Crazy hot up there then Topper. You'll be swimming in the moat for sure.

    Take ya inflatable duck.

i've always stayed at the empress or the amora. the empress has great service and great breakfast. the amora is pretty good but i think the empress pips it for service but amora is much more convenient to the market. maybe a little more than you want to spend though. the good view restaurant by the river has good food and atmosphere.

Don't bother with domestic flights, Top. More hassle than it's worth.

Take an Express VIP coach - a short 6 hours.
Or even better, hire a car....you and the missus can share the driving - much more freedom to get around, as you wish, in CM as well.
