"Pappa Dicks" from circa 1989 ---- In Santitam a few hundred metres down from the Ram hosp. junction but before the fire station / cremation grounds.
Later moved around the corner when heading towards the small northern bus station.

Oasis run by Stewart of dragon lady wife fame , later to become Johns ( Somchai ) place and subsequently cozy corner.

Karen Hut --I think closed about 1988 and was in the soi where all the book shops are, near Thapae gate behind what was Amora hotel

Alan Baileys Love birds bar now a tailors shop very near the Top North / Old bar beer centre.
He moved to what is now Mad Dogs about 1990.

I was in the Karen Hut once. It had a bit of a bad reputation as the hang out of the tobacco boys. Think it closed about 85. Pappa Dicks also once.

Never been in Love Birds though have met the owner, who went by the nickname of Birdfucker, for obvious reasons.

I'm in Chiang Mai. Most of the people I knew who lived in CM have long gone, others have retreated into their shells. Loi Kroh is awful and have only been once since I moved here permenantly a couple of years ago. I stick around Nimman where I live but am off the beer for a few months so tend to stay at home and annoy the missus.
