    Cheers in CM

Will be back for a short stint early next year...Beginning February ,until 3rd week of March. Will stand a drink(or two?) for any TD member in the proximity of Moonmuang Soi 2 "Sunshine Bar" during that time period....lol....55555

P.S The owners name is Jan.....he is there many years now....from Holland originally but you would never know it....lol....55555.....His Thai wife is named Nina ... a nice uni educated person in her own right.

The numbskull (Jan)usually checks TVisa ???? yuuck

If anyone from TD goes there and tells Jan that Gary says to use TD more they can put 1 drink on my bill (not a lady drink...lol) Jan can phone me to verify...I will email him as well and let him know.
Hopefully we can have a drink together when I get there.
    Cheers All

Many falang will be out of town or out of the country so they can breathe.

It's the worst possible time to visit CM.

Not just a visit...have a little Betta Splenden breeding farm just outside of CM (Mae Rim area) March might be a little hazy but c'est la vie...I'm familiar with CM weather since 1992) perhaps climate change and a slowing Chinese economy might help things!?...lol 555
Besides, I didn't want to visit with "falang" tourists anyway..just an open invite to share a drink and a chat with some TD members.
    .Cheers

Nah, keeping it. Was in your neck of the woods from the 7th and left the 10th.
Didn't even leave Nern Plab Wahn to CC Rd. until Constitution Day.

Mate took me to the Tesco on CC Rd. not the one behind BKK Bank near Suk between CC and NPW. He took a sub Soi North of from NPW then East on CC where there are two condo towers under construction.

    Too much traffic!

However, CM residents, I am trying to find a decent house near this school.

    Prosthetic Clinic

I miss Big C and Makro

Happy New Year LoyT and FF DrA et. al.(?)

Should arrive on the 5th after a 10 to 12 hr bus ride from the rice bowl of Isaan.

I can't find a site that has a decent listing of bus schedules for my neck of the woods erm rice fields. Live in Na Kae, Nakhon Phanom. Wife say we take bus from Sakhon Nakhon.

Transfer in Nong Khai province? Beats the hell out of me!

I love the food threads in the CM forum.

no problem, most Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays etc

a more important problem is choosing a suitable bar

May I suggest a friend of mine's bar Moonmuang Soi 2 "Sunshine Bar" as a rendezvous spot. Cold beer, as well as an assortment of spirits, great coffee,no hassle, friendly little place.
From there, there are numerous possibilities, depending on inclination, musical tastes, etc. that could be explored. lol
    Cheers

A hassle free place for sure, many expat patrons...however ,during the early evening many types of pastries, tarts included, stroll right past the bar on the way to work.! As well, the occasional free lancer stops in for a drink and ???? lol

I was there last night, dead as a doornail; the only outside table hogged by the bar owner and friends, the inside bar a dead piece of polished concrete with poor music

whilst the owners may be friendly, when they have the time, the "girls" are all a bit past it

so not much fun for a meet-up. sorry
