Tony's Place in Ayutthaya - one stop shoping for a case of the trots

A bit of advice- post a thread on Teak Door before planning a day trip and get some sound advice on where to dine. Do so BEFORE you leave the comfort of your home!! (see next line)
I waited until I got there and the internet crashed in the middle of a thread I was posting asking "Where is Rocs' place in Ayutthaya".

I ended up getting advice from a Thai lady at the internet shop where the computer crashed and she directed me across the street to Tony's Place.

If you are looking for a colon cleanse or in need of dropping a few pounds, I suggest you stop by Tony's Place in Ayutthaya.

I decided to order a cheeseburger and fries and also had seem cashew chicken with rice. After I ate, I popped into the toilet to take a leak and found it to be filthy hole. Made me wish I had went somewhere else.

It was the only place I ate yesterday and since last night I have had a case of the violent trots.

No fun running to the bathroom ever 5 minutes with the room spinning around you.

My stomach feels like the seen from the Alien's movie right before the bugger pooped out of that guy's stomach.

My missis worked in there for a day; said it was filthy. They scrape off leftovers from plates, warm it up and dish it out to the next unfortunate diner. Main place in that drag, so has a constant flow of un-suspecting tourists. Roc's place is opposite, across the road by the way, and a far better choice. Sorry this info is a bit late for you man.

I stayed at Ayudhaya a couple of days once and everything I ate was rough. The market served me an inedible khao pat boo, The night market sold me luke warm noodles ( twice at 2 different places ) Two restaurants I went to were barely passable until finaly I was driven to desperate measures and went to McDonalds.
I'm sure there must be decent places to eat but they seem a bit thin on the ground ?

Hope you feel better soon. The County Health Department is one of the few things I miss from California. Every week. They did unannounced inspections of restaurants and close them on the spot if serious violations are found. The newspapers publish lists of those cited and closed. Obviously here, you have to learn the hard way.

The food at Chang House was pretty good whenever I went there. Also try the Malakor for good Thai food. My mate Ken likes the new Korean place that's just opened on the other side of the island.

Solid sound advice. eat some cheese to tighten things up. I do like visiting Ayutaya though. The photo taking ops are unending.

Sai Thong on the river is a great Thai restaurant. Just on the main ring road to the very South of the island.

Well I never seem to have any problems anymore.
Since I have lived here a pretty good while and have not had the skidders for a goodly number of years,
I now plan ahead when I am going for a few hours drive away from my own kitchen to the kitchen at a friends house or just a trip from and back to my house.
I buy a loaf of Bread, A can of SPAM and a pack of cheese slices, a small mustard, a small mayo, and an unopened bottle of coke and a hard boiled egg that I peel, just things that these assholes can not get their nasty fucking unwashed hands on, thats what I eat and i have never had the shits since.
I save the Gormet meals for my own table or my friends, which includes very few Thai items and none from the wet markets where chemicals and organic cow shit is the fertilizers.
