    My first week in school.

Well its been just over 30 years since they kicked me out of school so it came as quite a shock for me to go back into a classroom. I quickly got used to my little chair desk thingie and paid attention instead of mucking up. (I was sorely tempted)

I drew pictures of 7 different animals and a car on the whiteboard and wrote stuff down in my new exersize book. I got seven stars on my first day so I knew that the teacher thought I had potential.

So far I have done two presentations and one exam and I didnt even cheat. Not once. Well, maybe I did look at the gal next to me's book once but I didnt copy her answer.

Anyway, last night we all (3) went out for a nice slap up 'get to know you' dinner. We had a lovely night and when the bill came it was 3000 baht. We all kicked the tin with a 1000 baht note and the nong took it to the cashier.
Apparently the cashier had made an error and the bill should have been only 2500 baht. The cashier gave the nong 500 baht to return to us and when the nong came back to our table she came up to me and explained that there had been an error. I told her not to worry about it and thanked her. I told her to keep 200 baht as a tip, as the service had been good and she did have a nice rack.
I then gave my fellow students 100 baht each and pocketed 100 baht myself.
It was a really good night out but as we prepared to leave I got to thinking about the bill.

Here is the thing.......if we all paid 1000 baht and then received 100 baht back then we had all paid 900 baht.
    3 x 900 = 2700
plus the 200 baht that I tipped the nong
    3 x 900 +200 = 2900

So where is the 100 baht?

Anyway, next week we are doing 'looking stuff up' and I have already got loads of homework to do. I am gonna be a teecha.

good job you're not planning to become a Maths teacher - I think that's the Dog's secret plan , he's on about doing a 6 wk course somewhere.

Nah. The bill was exactly 3000 baht before the error was found. When it was corrected the bill was exactly 2500 baht.
So where is the 100 baht?

Not quite yet young Macha. I still have to do 'rubbing out stuff' and 'choosing a pencil color' but with 5 weeks left to study I shall piss it in.

Mind you, to the likes of Harry I suppose I am already regarded as a teacher.

    not 'plus' the 200.

    your total outlay was 2700B

    900B each.

2500 to the restaurant and 200B to the waitress

There is no missing 100B but you've each paid 67B more to the restaurant than needed.

Yes, Cap it should be like this.

    2500 for meal + 200 for tip = 2700

    2700/3 = 900 each

    3000 - 2700 = 300 change

    300/3 = 100 baht each.

You've added the tip, where you should have added the change.

Confusing, eh, wait till you get to unconditional noun adjective collocations in the imperative perfect past tense.

what have the ppl. of thailand ever done to you to deserve such a punishment. does this mean you'll be in the los/bkk for a protracted period of time? my only consolation is that you don't know what i look like, whilst i'll be able to spot you in your bandana 100m away.

I think we'll all be able to spot the Capt at 100m if he's in a banana. Nice going Capt - how do you get about? I'd have thought you'd either have to hop on both legs, else spoil the whole banana look with legs in the outfit.
    Good luck with the course.

Nah, I was hoping to interview him actually

They must be making a hell of a profit on that course, with only 2 paying customers.

^It's terrible being English and getting blamed for everything.....I was in the States once and some Brit started verbally laying into a barmaid because of the treatment of the Red Indians.....I mean, what the bloody hell did it have to do with her?

    Consultant... consultant... hmmmm.

Yep, thought so. Starts with a 'c' ends with a 't' and has got 'u' and 'n' in the middle.
