    Animal Shelters

We have a dog problem. We were adopted. But unfortunately cannot keep her. It is a long story involving neighbours, the family and all the baggage. But she has been cleaned up, is due to be spayed and besides a bit of cringing has a lovely disposition.

I contacted two vets in Kanchanaburi to see if there are any options for an unwanted dog locally and was advised to either keep her in a cage or to leave her at the dump in Tha Muang, where she can forage. If there are no shelters that can take her I would like to have her put down. But that doesn’t appear to be an option either. [at]I am quite prepared to take her to Bangkok or elsewhere for either option.

You have adopted a dog, realized it was a mistake and now want to put her down ???

And people wonder why we are so picky when looking for a new home for our puppies.

While I appreciate your efforts to rehome her worst come worst set her free, at least give her that last chance.

You are confused. The dog pitched up in the evening, nothing but skin and bone. The next morning it was still there and I made the mistake of feeding it. The neighbours don't like it. It is sokabok. It will disappear eventually. Never to be seen again.

So it is more of a people problem. And if you think life on the street is anything to look forward to, you are walking around with your eyes closed.

Did you read about the German airline hostess who befriended a dog in ?Argentina? It waited weeks for her to return. Each time!
Never underestimate man's best friend when it comes to response to kindness.
If you have a yard give it a corner. When it gets to appropriate weight, give it a bath and get some tick drops and then all the neighbors will be jealous.
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?

She has filled out and has just been spayed. I want to see if I can find a home for her before she gets done.

Only thing I can suggest is to find a house or two being built in a new area and see if there is a resident stray, if not drop her there. Sometime people "adopt' and feed the resident stray as it will feel protective and bark if someone strange comes by thus alerting the home owner.

Yes, putting her down shouldn't be an option. Send the pooch to a new home or the best option is to give it to an animal shelter.

Good advice to the OP, who posted this over a year ago, and has not been back since. He probably ate it.
