Thailand Condo Expo sees sales of B1.2bn

The Thailand Condo Expo 2006 generated sales of 1.2 billion baht, with condominiums priced from one million to three million baht a unit attracting the most interest, according to organisers.

The three-day fair that ended last Sunday drew 40,000 visitors, and organisers expect another 1.5 billion baht worth of follow-up sales this year from the event.

Kittisak Jampathippon, deputy CEO of the property brokerage Harrison, a fair organiser, said younger buyers were seeking units priced from one million baht with the focus on design and function, while prospective foreign buyers favoured projects in the Sukhumvit, Silom and business districts.
Harrison is already planning a larger condo fair next year by inviting developers from neighbouring countries to participate.
