BANGKOK, 28 September 2018 (NNT) - The Ministry of Commerce has urged six related agencies to encourage people to plant perennial trees as collateral to create economic value.
Business Development Department Director General Kullanee Issadisai disclosed that a meeting had been held with six agencies involved in the draft ministerial regulations which stipulate that other assets can be used as collateral.
Among the six agencies are the National Social Reform Commission, National Research Council of Thailand, Royal Forest Department and Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives.
Initially, the meeting agreed that those who wish to plant perennial trees as collateral should be registered and correctly inform the types of trees to be grown in order to allow the government sector and the relevant agencies to systematically manage them.
