BANGKOK, 15 March 2018 (NNT) – Thailand is fully ready to organize THAIFEX - World of Food Asia 2018 from May 29-June 2, with a target of reaffirming the country’s status as Asia’s hub for food and beverages.
The Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, is cooperating with various agencies, including the Thai Chamber of Commerce and German trade fair organizer Koelnmesse, to hold the annual THAIFEX - World of Food Asia between May 29 and June 2 at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center.
This year, the exhibition space will be increased to 100,000 square meters from 70,000 square meters previously. The period for business negotiations will also be extended to four days, from May 29-June 1, while the fair will be open to general visitors on the last day, June 2.
More than 2,500 exhibitors from over 40 countries worldwide have confirmed their participation in this year’s event, 432 of whom are SMEs and another 200 are new entrepreneurs. Prospective buyers will also be coming from around the globe, including the United States, Australia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa.
Permanent Secretary for Commerce Nuntawan Sakuntanaga highlighted the significance of THAIFEX - World of Food Asia, saying the fair provides Thai entrepreneurs with a platform to demonstrate their potential and increase their competitiveness while offering them opportunities to tap into new markets and to make connections with related businesses, such as hotel and tourism. She projected that the event will generate up to 11.5 billion baht worth of trade deals.
