BANGKOK, 11th March 2018 (NNT) – The government is satisfied with Thailand’s 8th rank for best country to invest in 2018 announced by the US News, emphasizing the country's recovering economy.

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has received a briefing regarding the 2018 Best Country to Invest In rank by US News where Thailand is listed the 8th position out of 20 countries on the list, which takes into account economic stability, innovation, labour skills, technological proficiency, the environment, population, and corruption issues.

Gen Prayut expressed his satisfaction with the report which shows better acceptance of Thailand in the international community, and that this ranking is a result from cooperation between the government, private sector and the general public.

US News has previously announced Thailand as the best country to start a business for the second consecutive year, showing the country's economic potential which ranks among the highest in the eyes of international investors.

The Thai government has been working to facilitate investment in accordance with the Thailand 4.0 model to attract foreign investments. The country is ranked at the 26th position on the World Bank's Ease of Doing Business rank this year.

The Prime Minister was also pleased that ASEAN countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, are also listed in the top 20 ranking, showing that the region has high potential for investment among foreign investors, and that mutual development without leaving anyone behind is important.
