Meanwhile... work progresses with the Office bathroom.
'This' got finished too....
no... I don't want to talk about it!
LED light strips
We are thinking of fitting these to the inside of the ceiling step to provide a little lighting interest in the rooms.
To create an ambiance like this...
Anyone have experience of LED light strips, or is thinking of doing the same thing?
'scuse the crappy pictures in that last post... they were lifted off the computer screen using my telephone
This may suit you.

hey... you have the house to look forward to....
your right TD, look forwards, never look back !
Like your thinking on the comfy overstuffed furniture. Have same myself.
I have been looking into them for under kitchen cabinets, ceiling highlights, and in wardrobes. Also some with motion sensors that would go along the bed frame, for those midnight toilet trips. All still just research so far, no experience. And by the way, Philips and EVE make “smart” LED strip lights if you are interested in saying “Hey Google turn on the lights” instead of flicking a switch. The Philips “HUE” range of lighting is looking good .....”hey Google, turn on the outside lights” ......”ok Google, dim the lights to 50%”.
Yes, I am getting lazy in my old age.
'feraqture' ?!
WTF is that? 'feature' of course.
I have actually got voice activated control for the lights, other appliances and even the kitchen itself
I modified 'hey Google' to 'hey PJ! - turn the lights down', 'hey PJ! vacuum the living room rug'' and 'hey PJ - make us a cup of coffee!" - seems to work quite well most of the time
OK...Main bedroom en-suite
We wanted something a bit different to all the other white-tiled bathrooms.
Here we have gone for a slate grey-green larger tile, with some gold tile detailing to break up the wall.
The window to this bathroom is relatively small, so we will relay on the lighting to provide the ambiance.
That was always the plan btw... this room in its basic form will look a bit dull but its what we will put into the room after its completed that will make it stand out.
Hence i was talking about that gold epoxy shelf...
large mirror over the sinks, splashes of colour from the gold tile, the glass sinks, the bathroom plants and of course the lighting itself should all pull it together.
That's the plan anyway...stick with it while it develops!
heres the boys making a start on the tiling
Sorry its again a bit out of focus - my stand by cameraman has not yet mastered the skill of pressing the button without pressing the whole camera...
There's the worktop that will carry 2 glass sinks and their taps
And that's the space where the bath will go
Main en-suite 2
When the sun shines its quite bright in the room...
window light only
That's the bath end stop which will have shelving above
The gold tile reflects the light well. Note the holes cut now for the sink wastes
Of course it is not a monster bathroom - just big enough for 2 - she 'n' me!

That's a bucket BTW, not the toilet bowl being misused!
I dont know what happened to this but somehow...I can no longer update / edit any posts..
Anyone can help me with that?
as you can see...in that last post i deleted the photos but forgot to delete the texts.. now its stuck there!!
thanks in advance for anyone can fix the issue.
Main En-Suite 3
here we tried the bath in the space to make sure it fits....
close up of the tiles... there were many different patterns to choose from, we liked this one as it has some relief.
Kitchen floor.
Finally finished the tiling
This before a clean-up
Kitchen floor 2
I think...should like nice with some wooden kitchen units...
