Hi there AP2... thanks for dropping in again!

I probably wasn't to clear earlier.

He's got 3 gangs in total... about 30 people 10 x 3 gangs, but only one gang working with me!

    i.e. 2 other jobs running.

    He's busy, not surprisingly...

yeah... full security system, starting with the discrete CCTV round the perimeter

A 2m + wall around the boundary + solid gates and external wall doors

We can close the shutters when away and i have a security system for the large-opening folding doors too

then there's the razor wire on top of the wall.

2 foot spikes sticking up from the shrubbery both sides of the wall ready for when any one jumps down

Im going to electrify that razor wire too and the external gate handles

and lastly... the previously-mentioned crocodile (hungry)

(those last 4 might not make it to the final version)

'spose I better make sure PJ knows how to lock the gate too...

^ That should suffice though you may want to consider a moat for the crocodile!
Are you not going to run the wiring for the alarm system before they finish the walls?

lol... if i tell you everything 'bout the alarm system, AP2, (esp 'where the wires are') then its not going to protect much when you come looking for some replacement Mogen toilets while I'm on a trip somewhere!!!

(p.s. the spare front door key will be under the plant pot on the left of the door, same like it is in 50% of UK households......)

Hi Runker.... yes there is a bit missing.

it may not look like it yet but....

In fact, the top floor of the my house is (hopefully) going to end up looking similar to this one!!

Watch this space for the final transformation of the upper floor.

With regards to the support... see in the picture those support poles? They will also be fitted.

...and, the shutter arrangement in this photo, closed and flush with the external wall is what I am also aiming for!!

Our roof tiles are darker red than these but I am hoping they will age into the colour we want

You had better make it plain old barbed wire, razor wire is illegal as it is classed as a “war weapon”.
When the police raided the “flying saucer temple” a while ago when looking for the abbot for money laundering, one of the few charges they could make stick were for planning breaches and possession of a war weapon.....the razor wire they put up to keep the cops out.

Razor wire 'outlawed', Mike but broken glass stuck into concrete on the to of the wall is still 'OK"!!

see it a lot ... still being done. pretty gruesome. at least razor wire is visual, glass less so.

Maybe I just run the parallel wires with 5000v across the top. .... lol 'frying tonight'.

No ones going to break in anyway cos I'm friends with them all and they all know I am unique - the poor farang so nothing worth stealing...

^ You may consider selling your plans to others. It really is looking like something that others would want.

Hi TD, looking good and enjoying reading.

On the roof line i see they have put in what looks like 1Mtr overhang around your house.
Is this going to be open plan or are they going to put in horizontal member for the Soffit ?

Thanks for that Maanaam, lol Im sure that could be arranged....

...and you could probably get K.Pot to build it as he now has excellent experience (and hes a pretty good builder, so far...)

    Hey DM, hows it going?

Yeah..I call that bit the 'secondary roof' but its probably got a proper name...

It will be tiled same as the main roof above it. there will be pole-type supports as is tradition.

The underside will have 'conwood' to close off the void, then not will be painted to suit.

I would have said "eaves", but since it's not joined to the main roof, I may be wrong in this case.

That's what I was thinking but was hoping for something a little unconventional, what that would be I don't know.

No matter what the wall, if someone wants to rob you they will find a way. Imo, these typical Thai walls which surround the Lords manor are unnecessary and an ostentatious eyesore. Suggest you rethink wall design.

    Morning Norton...

I did think about it quite a bit but for me and she, privacy is a big thing, esp since the swimming pool will face the road.

I dont really want the world watching me frolicking in the surf!!!

We did scrap those gun turrets tho....

Ah, the pool. Privacy and secure wall is in order then. However, your perimeter wall and pool privacy/security wall need not be same. Something to consider.

Its true though... nothing yet to come is cast in tablets of stone.

In fact we changed quite a few things along the way, including your idea of the central hot water tank to service the bathrooms, etc.

We will be able to feed solar heated water into it at a later date if required though I think the solar array will be just for the pool as required
