Proving again, "devil is in the detail".

I cant kick him too much though, Norton - hes not been 'too bad' all in all.

There was one other fcuk up though...when he put the internal door from the upper hall (landing) into the big living room over zone two on the wrong way. i.e. it opened INTO the hall, not into the room.

'Schoolboy error' but he said, 'that's how it was on the plans' ....and he was right, it was.

Shoot the draftsman. anyway, he's changing it.

That would have annoyed me every day if it was left.

The more I look up that road, the more I think that electric post has moved - it does not look vertical now (unless its my wall that's out...)
That post is the one we 'moved' about 13m from its original position

lol and I also think the road / verge is crying out for a kerb and drain ditch. to y'know 'delineate' everything....

I might be forced to dig one out, form the ditch and kerb it myself. Dont think anyone would stop me, public service n'all.

....of course, sed ditch / kerb might be slightly over my actual boundary, but who cares....!?

He's been cleaning up...


the other sides of the shower are a glass partition and a glass door - still to come of course.


ooooh! ........wash basins!! very happy with those.


even the toilet looks better now that all the wood dust has been vacuumed up


And I think the floor tiles go good with the wall colour

TD has lucked out with the whole project as to not being onsite during the duration.
....which, might one to believe that he and The Big Boss are similarly connected along the same lines.

I too am preparing myself on the increasing temperature from outside, thinking that a double glazed window will not help much when the direct sunshine goes through.

Better to shut it off completely during daytime (sliding):


However, not going to compete with TD re golden fittings...

With the looming Songraan temperature it's a good practise to keep the house in daytime shut, not letting in the hot air 38 - 42C. Then, to open the windows only late night when the temperature sinks under 30C.

There are always two problems:
-having a good access to the windows or shutters thru the mosquito net)
-somebody has to think on it mornings evenings...

TD: How did you solve the problem of the mosquito net and the burglary bars in the windows?

I just removed the bars I had had installed before from outside, because of the new shutters, will not give them back. The view without them is much more enjoyable:



The view is thru the old mosquito net, quite rusty after few years, however, not really visible when looking from inside.


Unlike when looking from outside:

I am going to exchange the net (now fixed from outside), having just space enough between the window and the shutters for it, making it also sliding in the same size by wooden frame with wheels underneath on an alu rail. However sliding partly only some 50% to the left and again to the right what enables me to reaching the shutters halves from inside, in order to lock them together inside. Therefore, I will not feel sorry for the burglary bars no longer having them...

Another window of the corner room (bedroom) from other side - very exposed to the afternoon direct sunshine. Not possible to make the shutters sliding to sides, so installed them on hinges.

When looking for a way how to handle the shutters from inside and having the mosquito net as well, seeing that I do not have a space enough in-between the window and shutters.

Will provide a sliding frame from inside, similarly slidden partly to the left and right for reaching the shutters from inside and lock them together.

hi Klondyke... well ...dunno about solved it but i did make a plan in advance to fit one or both as required:

If you look at this close up of my window frame layout....



...you can see between the outer shutters, and the inner windows, there is a clear space all the way round.

I figured this could accommodate those nets and even some bars, while still allowing both shutter and window to be closed.

would need some form of quik-fit / quik-release locking system.

This is something for me to develop once i am there.
