tammasat university have whats quite a nice library, spitting distance from the CP and entirely underground. With the grand plaice flooding I'm curious whats happened to this.
They should have used this pic.Originally Posted by armstrong

Just as well they built swampy.
Why didn't they just fly them somewhere else before it flooded?
^ there's still time...
Are they onetwogo jets? That company seems to be cutting costs in every way, always. Water pressure starting to push on those jets... wouldn't wanna be flying in them after the floods; micro fissures?
Those planes look like they have no wings. Perhaps they've been decommissioned.Originally Posted by The Fresh Prince
Hadn't noticed that. I thought that they had just taken the engines off because of the flood.
^ & ^^ are you sure???
No not sure, it's hard to tell from the pic.
I am sure that there is no time left to fly the fuckers!Originally Posted by Bettyboo
If 1000 boats can clear the CP river, then don't you think that those powerful jet engines can clear those puddles...
Actually, I'm surprised they didn't turn all the planes round and force the water back up North; maybe they were afraid of flooding DoiTung...
Good idea BB. They should fly planes really low over the CP to force the water into the ocean!
1-2-Crash may say decommissioned, but I prefer 'grounded'.Originally Posted by pickel

I've just de-condomed the fridge, I can't take it anymore. If I have to drink one more warm bottle of water I will probably beat someone in the face.
Some water started seeping onto the road today by our house and we were given a notice by our moo baan to expect flooding.
So I decided to spend the day fortifying the house a bit more.
The first job was to get that big bastard fridge up the stairs onto the second floor. 2 security guards and the next door neighbor helped and we got it up there with minimum damage to the walls or the fridge. Not looking forward to bringing it back down though.
Next up I decided to have the drains at the front and back of the house cemented closed.
The guy doing it stuffed that big bag, (that was previously wrapping the fridge up) full of water bottles and put the whole thing down the drain to create a base for the cement.
He did the drains at the front and back and will come back to break them open when it's all over.
Next job was the drain in the downstairs bathroom. Previously I'd gaffer taped it up but I've been assured by people that have already experienced flooding that this method is the way to go.
So the tube fits snugly over the screw in metal insert that's inside the drain. The tube is silicone gelled to the insert and I sealed the screw in insert with polly filler.
Then your not supposed to cap the top off. Just let it breath and the water apparently wont travel all the way up it. We'll see.
I am sure those planes are out of service, if you look at some of the pictures, you will notice vertical weather stain's, running down from the windows etc. That is caused when something is idle for a long time, in this case the air craft.
lf they were in use, any staining would have a tendancy to go length ways, going through the air at a few hunded kilometers an hour, makes sure of that.
Its creeping in slowly.

Are those cars dumped on the 2 bridges or moving?
Where's your motor at the present?
Which house? When you evacuate?
^ Looking at the 2 photos I'd say parked up
Is that the view from your house TFP ?

Here's a still that I captured from a video I took the other day of all the cars that have been dumped on the bridge coming into Tha Pra.
A good reason not to dump your car on a bridge.

I've gotta give some credit to my Moo Baan. They've done a head count of the residents still here and are providing food and water everyday for everyone.
They've made a decent wall at the front but I think it's pointless because there are storm drains before and after the wall.
And they've set up some massive pumps in the main drain areas.
They've got 2 of these set up and 2 reserves.
And here is what they look like from the outside.
I'm going to see if anyone can lend me a 4x4 for a few weeks that they are not using but if I can't get one then probably evacuate tomorrow.Originally Posted by Travelmate
I've got a mate in town that has an apartment I can use that will allow dogs. Only problem is that there is no furniture. On the upside his mum lives on the next floor so the cooking will be good.
