Don't know if Taffy has still has the same misses or not, but his wife/girlfriend back in 2000-2002 was a right physco, was sat in there one afternoon minding my own business and next thing i'm on the floor knocked off my stool as a bottle had hit me on the back of the head, was only Taffys missed who had launched a bottle from the bar aimed at him but struck me, fokin shit shot Thai's as he was nowhere fokin near me, anyway no serious damage done.
Ain't that the truth...just the other night I was there and the mamasan was serving behind the bar instead of being sprawled out on the couch pissed...Originally Posted by sabang

^Remember many an afternoon getting shitfaced in Taffys then onto the wild country early evening, mate of mine was shagging the owner at the time (Thai bird with glasses, forget her name, going back 10+ years), was always an experience.
I'm sure her US Special Forces husband would have been glad to hear that - fortunately he's dead now.Originally Posted by buriramboy

Memories of Flyers.....2004-5 I was shagging a girl who worked there, on and off.
Nice girl she was, actually liked me, and me being me didn't realise this until I'd pissed her off. I missed her.
A sad day, after many fun days with my mates in this area!!
Well with the Dubliner, sportsman and the Hare and Hounds closing their doors over the last few weeks it basically down to the two opposite the Regency, Easy pub and yes good ole Taffy.
He recons he may be there for a good while yet.
Kurt was mentioned a few posts back.
He sadly passed away a few weeks back. He was as much apart of the square as all the old bars.

Where did the owner of the hare and hounds go to, I remember he used to have a similar place on cowboy years ago, he didnt look too well last time I saw him, a couple of months ago sitting infront of his bar surveying the approaching decay and destruction.
The washington square hare and hounds was the nearest thing to an old uk style fifties back street boozer, a very depressing place, sorrow drowning was its raison d'etre. Should have been preserved as a historic relic.
