Fair comment if you know bkk, which I don't, and not clued up to pin these venues onto a map for perspective, but I'm guessing there will be enough within easy reach to pleasantly exhaust the lad for 3 days, and plan B for the absolute worst case scenario is to invest in a fcuk off nerf gun.
The key in bkk is to be near a skytrain (BTS) stop.
Oh well...at least you're not too far from an underground (MRT) stop.
If you drive in, as you will unless you're a complete idiot paying heed to Terry, then you also need to make sure the place is near a convenient highway exit.
Oh well...if the missus suggested it then at least you're off the hook there.
Stranger in a strange land, anything could happen and probably will; I shall save these valuable tips for the next trip in April, and for now feel reasonably safe with the moderator.
Jabs just go with it, its Bkk, if you wanted stress free you'd chose somewhere else. I'm sure you'll all have good time and try not to do too much or you'll be walking around in a permanent puddle.
Jesus christ mate,
You have given two very important peaces of information
1 = Not knowing Bangkok very well.
2 = Staying near Khao San Road.
If you drive up please give us a trip report will ya.
I predict it will go like this..
You had a mental break down
The wife has left you.
Your kids recon you're a complete coont for fuking up there Holiday.
That will be the good bits.
Yer, but you're a silly coont and tie ya car to the back of the bus ain't cha.
Anyway, you have flounce back to that shit hole Blighty so you're opinion ain't worth shit so fuk off.
^ your catching Public Transport rather than driving doesn't work back here in freezing cold Blighty either. Expensive as fuck and full of green teethed chavvy coontas like Luigi trying to bum your fags and spare change.
Tezza got the bus from Pattaya.
He started the journey with hair.
Top Gear did a special on whether buying a car, filling it with gas, and then driving from London to Manchester and back was cheaper than return train tickets.
All 3 of them did it cheaper.
I am presuming this is the example and it took them at least 1 day to find, purchase and prepare the car.:
"£100 Car challenge
Series Four, Episode Three
The presenters were given £100 to buy a car that was road legal (had current tax and an MOT certificate). This was to prove that a car could be purchased and driven from London to Manchester and back again for less than it would cost to take the train (around £180), including the price of the fuel. Clarkson bought a 1988 Volvo 760 GLE, Hammond bought a 1991 Rover 416GTi, and May bought a 1989 Audi 80 1.8E. The challenge included reliability, fuel economy, stopping time, safety, price, and lap-time testing. May's Audi won most of the challenges, but Clarkson was declared overall winner as he bought the Volvo for £1, awarding him 99 points. Winner: Clarkson"
It appears that compulsory car insurance wasn't included, although a legal UK requirement.

It appears that TG exaggerated the train price by a factor of 3x and drove their cars with no insurance cover..

A tray full of GOLD is not worth a moment in time.
Thanks, I can't imagine we'll do more than a few of those, probably whatever's within striking distance of the hotel, and of course some shopping.
Looks like this'll be a dry run for a 1-week visit in April, handed over to wifey for planning so we should end up more central.
Jesus Christ,
Norton is telling him to drive in Bangkok but Norton lives up in shitsville up Norf where there are mainly Soi dogs on the road.
Look fuktards, there is another option.
He could drive from Pats up to Bum Bum Airport and dump his car in the long term car park. The motor way is excellent and it's an easy drive.
But once he exits from the motorway and hits Bangkok the whole fookin show turns to shit and you wankers saying it does not need to fook off.
Anyway back to Business eh.
Once he dumps his car at the airport he could simply jump a Taxi and head into Khao San Road area. Cost him maybe 400 Bht and save him a world of angst and frustration trying to drive his car in Bangkok when he don't know the city.
When he is done jump a taxi back to BUM Bum airport and drive back to Mongerville.
So there ya go shit stains so stop trying to fuk up his holiday by telling him to drive into Khao San.
Cheers eh.
And even if ya Know Bangkok is still supremely fooked trying to drive into the Shit house innit.
Jesus mate,
If ya planning to be in Bangkok in April ya gunna hate it and run home crying like a little bitch.
It really is a diabolical time to be in the city, it's incredibly hot and the air pollution is off the Chart.
I leave the city in March and return in June once the rain starts.
Ya gota game this city if ya gunna live it, if not it's fookin rubbish.
Just saying dude eh.
