Were do guys buy your office work clothes? Robinsons? Central?

I'm a bit out of shopping practice and after 12 years of retirement have been offered a pleasant job in a nice country, so why not.

I need some office type wear.

In days of yore I used to go to a clothing "department" store in Ploenchit Centre, near what used to be Soi Zero and next to Marriott. . Still has McDonalds on the ground floor. But the clothing place has gone. Raided my closet but frankly it all looks a bit tired.

Need half a dozen long sleeved shirts and accompanying Docker type pants/trousers. I could get the shirts made but the "suit" places only have fabrics that go with suits and I'm not going to be wearing a suit.

Don't really relish wandering around Century 21, Gateway or any other malls linked to the BTS. I'm not after label stuff or shoes with pointy toes!
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.
You people, you think I know feck nothing; I tell you: I know feck all

If in the centre of Bangkok, I would go for Central Chitlom.

Straight off the skytrain and they have most of everything you need.

Shoe-wise I go for Hush Puppies and Timberland, whilst the shirts are the usual lot you see n every department store.

Been awhile but agree, Central Chitlom. I always bought Arrow shirts at Robinson's there. A bit pricey but excellent quailty and fit. Good selection of Dockers as well.

OK Robinsons first for a gander then Central Chitlom and Robinsons on the way back as Robinsons is closer to the beer.

All Central malls have Robinsons. Yes, near beer is a priority.

As a rule, I buy my clothes in the country I'm working in. Clothes bought in Thailand tend to stay in Thailand.

Agree but I need to hit the ground running. Might take me a couple of weeks to find stuff there? First impressions and... although most of the senior guys know me from previous jobs but the subordinates?
And I'm not spring chicken so I need something modern.
It is always possible though that I will be given some "company" shirts

For Chinos and nice long sleeve cotton shirts check Uniglo near Robinsons in malls. I like them because their clothes are smart but a bit more casual. I just picked up the clothes I will wear to my kids Uni graduation. Nice sport coat, chinos, and a long sleeve button down cotton shirt.

I agre with others and Central etc have some choices. If your in Bangkok a competent tailor can do a pair of pants made to measure and your choice of textiles for little more than the big stores, unlike a suit one fitting should suffice.Avoid the Suk touts.

Cutting 4 pairs likley same cost as 3, I had 4 pairs made at a place in Pahurat for 3000 baht ( was over 10 years ago so likley double now) up to you. I'm sure your aware price seldom reflects quality here, I had Egyptian cotton shirts made over 1000 each but still good after a decade, added comfort likely saved same in cold drinks within a week.

    Bon Voyage

Are those the Loytoy Grabang with deep pie pockets ?

The key piece of tailoring for burgers lovers is the elasticated waist.

Careful though, it's worth paying for quality.

Some of the cheaper brands are pants

I went into Tokyu recently looking for a matching jacket and trousers, but they didn't have anything to suit me.

Were you in deNile when you purchased them?

Cheers guys. Went to Central Chitlom.

Found some shirts 3 for two! But only like two colours/patterns so now i have two the same! The other shirts i bought were not discounted the same.

Clarke's boring engineer-looking office shoes in my size 50% off. Could have bought Hush puppies or others but i like the Clarke's before I was told bout the discount. Actually bought one pair 30% off and then assistant said if I but two pairs 50%. I thought OK another pair at half price, why not? So I found a different pair I liked and then also got an extra 20% off the pair I had already bought. What more could a boy want from a pair of shoes?
