Ramkhamheang - The new Sukhumvit 24

You should see the condo developers piling up since the MRT construction started. I saw the very average development today and they want 3 mil for 26sqm... that's higher than new developments on On Nut. Apparently its almost all sold out

    Are these people normal?

    Yes, normal.

They'll make a decent amount when they sell it for 5m in 3 years time. Unless it falls down.

There you go YD, straight from the horse's mouth.
Get in now and in a few years time you too could be bicycling and beachbumming in Thailand's industrial zone

At least you didn't mean Ramkamhaeng 24, that's still a untapped enclave of cute Uni students in tight skirts.

But now I've mentioned it, it could result in a TD exodus reeking of grecian 2000.

Or maybe not, preferably. I'm off to catch the canal boat

Probably. Mulling about buying a condo in Calgary as a matter of fact-o. Got some money to spend and oil is going up.

I was at the Queen Sirikit Centre today for the Mobile phone Expo.

The Thais were killing each other to pay 33,900 baht for the new Samsung note 8.

The amount of money being splashed around today at this expo was incredible.

There are a huge amount of Thai in BKK with lots of disposable money.

I would not buy a BKK condo with the specific goal of making money but to actually own one would be a good thing if it's disposable money.

$100k for an extremely small cement cube in a third world country?

I thought one of the main benefits to living in, and dealing with third world country stuff/people was that it was cheap.

That aint cheap. And that space is barely large enough to inhabit.

Not a great area for transport too. Traffic clogged. Street stalls.
Mrt won't be ready for at least 6yrs. Another underground line in a sinking city. Plenty of Africans, Ethiopean/Eritrean women in burkhas.

But there is a Foodland around there.

If i was to pay 130 K for my dead centre inner city Condo in BKK i would be crying with laughter.

    All relevant innit.

^I will admit to having a love/hate relationship with the area.

Lots of plus points that I've mentioned. I often swim at the S.A.T. pool and get an Isaan food fix at the nearby katoey run and staffed cafe nearby or the outdoor place with the screen by the hotel across the road.

It has a charm, and most of the sexpots that walk about make it worth getting canal water splashed in your face to get there. (Ram 29 pier)

    ^

City is not for everyone but the one thing it offers is the fact that the motivated person will never get bored, there is always something happening in BKK.

I love it and i love the blinding looking pussy who inhabit it.

And from there you can take a slow stroll round to The Mall Bangkapi.
Or get the boat of course.

The FBT sports mall is also worth visiting. Always a bargain to be had. I had to buy some latex tight swimwear there as they don't allow shorts to be worn at the pool.

Take some mirrored shades to complete the experience.

Oh yeah, and a proper Cat cafe near Makro. The cats are healthy and playful, unlike the weepy eyed stinking miserable ones at Silom.

Cats go to person cafes, surely. I've seen them lurking at a few food stalls

That cafe is also good for watching uni girls bending over next to you while playing with the cats

And they do a half decent carbonara

It's in a market/foodstall lane between Makro & the Mall. It runs paralell to the Makro car park
You'll find it. Just follow any pussy smell that's in the air.

Oh hang on, you may get detoured and never find it....

its my manor and I quite like it, but generally avoid ram road itself.
some decent eateries though they knocked down bangkok's best Indian ressie
working in town makes it a bit of a pain but the mussie neighbours are ok and quite bar the call to prayer

Pat, why not do a full-on review of the area?

    Photos, Maps, Transport Options etc

The Teak Door would benefit by it.

    Good idea Dave.

I'll haul my ass over there on sunday and see what's what. Any natives from TD are welcome to join me along the way.

I'll start at Nasa Vegas/ARL station and work my way towards The Mall.
