Yep, that's the one. Too bad, it was drinkable.

Are you familiar with the aforementioned independent Thai craft beers, Red?

Yes, I was just referring to mainstream beers you can buy bottled/canned. The craft beer thing in terms of SE brews seems pretty new, last time I was in LOS the only stuff being served at more upscale places seemed to be mostly imported from either England or the US. Ran about 350 or 400 baht for a pint. Pretty cost prohibitive, although there were a few times when it seemed worth every satang to drink something so delicious after months of crap beer.

The downside is that the hundreds of small brews available are restricted [by Fascist law] to the respected premises/places of business...

    Come the revolution.
    Might be sooner than later.

I remember with horror...that 'low calorie' San Miguel.

Is Red Horse still available? I used to wash my gloss paintbrushes with that when I was out of white spirit

Tried a bottle of these two last time I was in CM.

I found the wheat beer on the right anonymous and over carbonated, but the Red Truck IPA was a pleasant surprise, with a very satisfying finish.

    I'll be buying more.

Tiger is the same price as chang in our 7/11. Never thought that would happen.

How's the London Pride brewery going? Read something about problems there some time ago.

It did seem as though the price of crap beer in Thailand was converging the last time I was there, around 3 years ago. This was just after the tax on alcohol went up. Again.

Cyrille, does that sticker say 140 baht? Good god...

Who was it used to be obsessed with Old Speckled Hen?

Marmite I think. He would go on and on and on and on about it.

^ Av. price of a pint in UK is 140 baht. I would gladly pay 140 a pint for Old Speckled Hen.

EDIT: In a pub not in 7-Eleven

I suppose I would as well. That looks like a 12oz bottle sold at a convenience store though. Bit different to pay 140 baht there.

Still though, desperate times, desperate measures, and all that

Yes, I paid 90 baht for the bottles I bought though if I remember correctly.

    --UPDATE--

The Londoner have started selling a couple of homebrews (IPA and a Pilsner)

They only started selling about 2 weeks or so ago, but have heard good reports about their IPA.

Only 105 Baht a pint happy hour (1pm-8pm) and 150 after.

Check out their Facebook for more info - https://www.facebook.com/LondonerBrewPub/?fref=ts

Pop down once or twice a month and enjoy the place for a quiet drink.
