Tax - the 1016 is quite collectable and I would think would be a good investment if bought at the right price. You would do well to find one with box and papers bearing in mind it's age, and would add possibly 15% to the price.

Trying to buy a vintage or second hand watch in LOS with b&p is a rare find. For some reason Thai dealers do not get hung up on these details - possibly due to the number of times they change hands.

I would never buy a Rolex from any dealer in MBK at best you will get a "Franken" watch.
If you are not a Rolex geek I would suggest that you make part of any deal you do,to personally have the watch authenicicated by the Rolex Centre in BKK - I think they charge circa bt1500 - the price of peace of mind.

Have a look at chrono24.com.au for pricing on all models - as they tend to be worldwide dealers, it is more a guide than a recommended purchase point.

Caller - the Rolex watch I purchased in Leng's was model 68258, I had been searching for a mint or almost mint one for a long time, hard to get with original bezel etc.(For my wife) this outlet was lucky that they had exactly what I wanted - still disappointed with the lousy discount.
They had a Rolex Daytona 16528 - beautiful - at a fairish price but certainly no bargain.
They offered no discount again and wanted to charge me for an extra link - which had obviously been removed for the previous owner, they only accept cash and as this was not what I had came to purchase I declined.

Shop is worth a visit very pro and they know their watches.

Many thanks to both you and Tax for the information. I mentioned it to my other half and I could see she was getting nervous - lol!

What I would love to find is the Omega Seamaster Blue Titanium model 2231.80, which are not easily found!

Thanks, but I'm aware of that, it's an old ad, out of stock. If I was going to buy on line, I would want to be comfortable with the dealer, say iconic watches in the UK. I'd rather see It in the flesh.

There is a Seiko dealer Authorized repair centre just up the road from Pantip plaza, maybe 2 Km away.

Took my Seiko there last year, google it up easy to get to can walk.
