Look out fellas I'm heading down your way. The purpose for the trip is to lodge citizenship form for my daughter at the embassy, and maybe a little R & R

So I got some stuff I need translated, and a shitload of things to be get 'certified' (ID copies, etc) - I don't even know what it means to certify something. All I know is they're useless and in no rush here in the north. I can get the shit certified at the embassy but that pisses them off. My play is to hammer them with flawless documents and certification above and beyond what is required.

I'm hoping to come to a one stop shop in BKK for all my translation and certification needs.

And what are the best venues to get smashed these days? Not into the hard-coreness of cowboy and nana but some eye candy and alcohol would be nice.

Will probably be staying around soi 23 towards the airport link - sunsetter's hood.

^ Go to Wireless Road and find a shop there. Loads of them and mostly used for Embassy translations, so there will be little confusion over what documents you require for your intended purpose. You can take the sky train to the Central location and exit to your opposite corner. Interesting area. Be sure to take photos of the US Ambassadors residence. Armed guards will immediately attack you and demand your camera. Tell them to fuk off, and they will. Impressive!

So by 'certified' what do they mean exactly? The Aussie embassy is the best place for this? The website says they can certify them or you can do it yourself, implying doing it yourself will make it less painful. So who other than the embassy can certify? The translators?

If by certification you mean; Embassy stamp, then after you get the documents translated you go to the Embassy of your passport which I assume is Aussie? They will hopefully provide you with a form that states that you personally declare that these documents presented to the Aus. Embassy are true and unaltered before a Embassy staffer, hopefully Aussie, not TCN. They will then stamp the required documents with a state of Australia seal. This is like a Notary stamp used in the USA for legal documents and property statements. Good luck, shouldn't be much difficulty. I've done the same at the US Embassy and they handle these matters as "routine."

Cheers for the advice fellas. The translation place people should know the drill anyway. I'd expect they fleace you but that's cool anything to avoid headaches with this sort of shit. I wanna be thinking about if I should head on a day trip to Kanchanaburi or Cha-Am, rather than running around BKK with papers flying everywhere.

Maybe I'll see a few decrepid TDers on soi 22. You won't know who I am but I reckon I could spot this crowd.

Opposite the British embassy is a shopping centre/home pre - on the 1st floor are half a dozen shops which will do everything. Tell them what you want, give them the docs and it'll come back within 3 days all done. Probably between double to tripple the price of what you could do yourself, but by the time you factor in travel/taxi costs, etc, it's not too bad. Very easy, if you want it to be...

Wireless Road translation services are cheap, quick and commonly used for many ex-pat services. Shop around on prices, but I doubt you'll do better than WR.

Is Barons massage still open next to Emporium? Used to be the best in Bangkok.
