What Golf Courses in BKK survived the floods?

Hi All,

I am trying to put together some golf events in BKK next year. This is not an easy task, when you are based down south, and with the conflicting reports that I have read.

So please TD members can you please update me on what courses survived and which did not and when they expect to re-open (if they will)

Pattaya is a much better bet, and you have an excellent choice of courses to boot.

Plus the nightlife is cheaper and better.

Maybe a better question would be what courses incurred damage. The only ones I know are Krung Thep Krita, Unico, Mungtongthani, and the other one off BangNa -Trat behind Windmill. They are all the same as before. Whether they are any good would have to come from a golfer.

That is a point. Apparently the Gymkhana in CM suffered little damage; the water rose steadily and then fell steadily, as opposed to the rushing floods that damaged it so badly a few years back.

I have been doing this for about 10 years now, one Sunday a month in the Bangkok Area. I know Patts has the better choice but the majority of the players are BKK based.

I guess the Don Muang Airport course is closed for a while !

May be they will open one in Suvanaphum, was quite incredible see the guys swing while you take off !

There are quite a few good courses on the eastern side of Bangkok , the summit , the windmill , green valley , the royal , lakewood to name just a few.
We never had any flooding on this side so all the courses should be ok. I live next to the lakewood course and take my daughter to school on the green valley golf estate everyday and know that these two have been open the whole time.
There are quite a few more around here , but I havent played them recently so can't comment.

Can't offer any advice on BKK but did any body see that Asian Tour event on TV at Amata Springs on the weekend?
The greens must have been totally shit with so many pro's being consistently so far off the mark.

I take your point, although I would have thought they'd appreciate the break by the seaside.

I'd love to play that one for novelty value, it's an Air Force course.

Mind you, at my standard of golf, I'd probably represent a serious threat to aviation safety if I played there.
