Fresh snow always looks magical, then it quickly gets ground into gray slush.

If you had got out a little more you would know that Christchurch is (before earthquake) one of the prettiest and well kept cities I have seen.

Its known as the garden city because people really take pride in the their property and the environment.

I'm a little biased because I was born there but on my 1st trip back 5 yrs ago after an absence of 25 yrs, I was knocked out by the cleanliness and beauty of the place.
