The most boring place in Australia

    Can you compete with this?

I was doing a review of all the places I have been to in Australia and this joint takes the cake for boringness. I last saw Meekatarra WA when Wayne Kerr and myself did a soujourn through the great outback a couple of years ago. https://teakdoor.com/australia-and-ne...he-desert.html

this was nothing but fun. However, we gave this joint a quick flick pass as we had heard that it was boring as bat shit. You make your own assessment.

FMD I got to 1:37 and dozed off.

Where did you get this advertising gem?

    Classic.

Reminds me of a place we pulled into going Syd - Bris inland. The town of Parrots.

    I parrot in a cage!

Laughed myself sick for the next 300km.

Narrator sounds like a Canuck. Could have stayed home and found far more boring places than Meekatarra. Funnier town names as well. Dildo, Newfoundland.

No it isn't so bad. Here is a story about some travellers who went there and made a quid or two. One bloke caught a lizard.

What a dull narrator. I never even took in, what was being said. I might use this tonight, to get my young un off to sleep.

    Hehe, what town is that?

Here's the REAL town of parrots.......Palmerston NT, where birds and single mothers get smashed.

Hundreds of seemingly drunk parrots are falling out of trees and the sky in a NT town, mystifying veterinary surgeons who are struggling to care for them.
The brightly coloured lorikeets are showing classic signs of drunkenness by losing all coordination and passing out, and then cowering in cages as they recover from their "hangovers".
"They definitely seem like they're drunk," said Lisa Hansen, a veterinary surgeon at the Ark Animal Hospital in Palmerston, near Darwin.
"They fall out of trees... and they're not so coordinated as they would normally be. They go to jump and they miss the next perch."
Hansen said nobody was sure what was causing the symptoms, although it may be a plant they are eating. Other theories include an outbreak of a mystery virus.
She said the hospital, which is seeking donations, was caring for about 30 birds at a time with eight arriving each day after being scooped up from lawns and roadsides.
The birds are given sweetened porridge and fresh fruit -- the avian version of hangover food.
"It's probably the equivalent of ice-cream and cans of coke for the lorikeets," Hansen said.
"They sit on the floor of the cage and rest their heads on the side, or they curl up in the corner and hide under the paper and block the rest of the world out."
Hansen said "drunk" lorikeets have been seen in Palmerston previously but never in such numbers, adding that the birds can die without proper care.

    Nope not Palmerston.

Most of the birds falling over drunk there are bored housewives. Shocking place.

The parrot story is ancient news. They've been doing it since fermented fruit existed. The parrots eat fermented fruit. Get pissed fall over.

    Bloody funny to watch.

Nine news must be hard up for news at the moment.

^^ Agreed. As is the narration. Turned it off almost immediately. Re-edit, no background music, or if you must, tone it down to a whisper, please. I am interested in seeing more of Australia.

Yes it sure has a sedative effect and the music is very similar to a 1960's bad taste porn movie ya can always tell what era a porn movie is shot in, if it is in the 60's- 70's the blokes tockleys usually have sideburns!
