    Rockingham, Western Australia

It's school holidays now so we decided to take the kids to the coastal town of rockingham. It's not all that exotic but the beaches are nice

The beaches look great. Are they safe to swim at?

The entire WA coastline is shark-central, about 1.2% of which are harmless.

Albany is a beautiful place, only 4 hours from Perth. Fets a bit nippy in the winter though. Ya gotta be a special kinda nudist there?

Having drama posting pics . But any hoo, speaking of sharks we hit the allegedly best chippy in Rocky for fish n chips for lunch. In perth you can't get fish n chips for lunch coz it's illegal ? Ya gotta wait until 4 fucking 30 apparently and then hand over a shitload of beer vouchers

Yer. Damn pics don't load try again later. I ponied up about $75 aussie pesos to feed me, the handbrake and the 2 shark biscuits. It was OK but not great. Order snapper but suspect it was Noah's ark? Never mind probably the best thing to do to a shark is batter and deep fry it.

Anyway I live in Perth now and my bro lives in rockingham. So we caught up with that fat coont, swirled a few frostys and hit the beaches. I'm actually quite impressed with how nice the place was. Clean beaches and good food. This is how we hafta roll these days to amuse ourselves during this covid thingo. Years ago you could buy a Winnebago or a caravan for fuck all but now, the fuckers are commanding fat bucks coz they know we can't leave the fucking country easily. Crock of shit really.

Post up some more pics later. It really was quite a surprising place with marine parks hosting penguins and seals etc ,that pre covid I would of given a wide berth .opting for the hedonistic delights of se Asia.

When you add the pic as soon as it appears double click on the pic then a box will pop up. Choose the large size picture option. Then the pics will be proper sized.

Yes, the comment was based Looper's penchant for being completely bollock-o.

Spent twelve months in Perth, Daglish/Subiaco, while partner of the time was training at Gairdner hospital while I lived a life of leisure and part time work.
A lot of time at Cottesloe beach, there were enough shark sightings and beach closures to put me off ever swimming out very far. Once had a dolphin go through a crowd of swimmers, seeing a fin at close range had me walking on water.
Had friends further up the coast at Yanchep a beach there was a good getaway from the main city beaches.
When it was time to go back to Sydney, we took the Indian Pacific, 3 days by train.

BLD, I lived in Perth for a couple of years; 2004 to 2006. The wife and I went down to Rockingham a few times for a night's getaway and I seem to remember we stayed in a hotel with loads of plants festooning all levels of a central foyer, if that makes any sense. I also remember how fantastic the Moreton Bay Bugs were.

I can't remember much else, but it was a long time ago.

I hear ya. Mandurah is underrated as far as I'm concerned. If I was cashed up I would grab me a a house on one of the canals. Buy a boat. Go fishing And grin like a large alsation.. fantastic place
