    Roughly eight degrees with rain announced but Mrs Hat had taken the day off for a few hours of bush-bashing in the Waikato region -

    After the trek we went to a place in Pirongia we like to have coffee and cake but because it was lunchtime . . .

    The broccoli and blue cheese soup was excellent and my wife's quiche with Kranski sausage was . . . brilliant

    HA! Not allowed . . . bladdy bikers. There are only a few set paths with gravel, the rest is quite challenging, especially in the rain.

    I've always wanted to do a tour of NZ on horseback. Maybe one day......

    Just saw this now - thanks for sharing the pics. I miss hiking! With the current situation... I hope I will be able to hike again soon...
