Oh, are you going Bkk-Sydney? You could try Air Asia from DM?

The 'Air Asia through Brisbane' is new so might have a few specials.

    Money v time?

I fly this route 2-3 times per year, most recently Monday 22nd; for me the best time-wise is Emirates/Qantas codeshare (try for Emirates as preference) leaves Suvarnabhumi 6.10pm arriving Sydney 6.25am, train and ferry I was with friends for breakfast at Manly beach 8.45am
(24C in July/winter, lifeguard on duty, people swimming later in the day)

Random date, eg 21Aug on Skyscanner has:
Scoot @ 5337 baht (one way) - a 23hr 45min ordeal via Singaporefrom Don Muang
or, the cheapest direct flight around twice the price
11,126 baht for my preferred option, direct flight and ideal departure/arrival times
