Saw them Christmas Eve 1977, on that banned at any large venue tour.
I was the only long hair in the crowd, 'bout 8-900 full capacity.
No support band, but a reggae dj playing as loud as it possibly could get.
I thought fuck me, the Pistols are gonna be a bit loud.
Atmosphere was electric.
Pistols came on, same volume as the reggae dj, bit it was LOUD, and to this day, one of the greatest gigs i've ever been to, and i've seen a few...
Very fortunate and blessed to have seen them.
Wonderful in their prime.

Above two posts by EB, great old stuff, dancers are an added bonus, thanx.
The next (Christmas) day they played Ivanhoe's in Huddersfield (my home town) as a benefit gig for kids of Firemen (who were on strike at the time). A few kids from our school got to go to this party / concert, and said the 'Pistols were brilliant:

Wish I'd been there.
Their singles (and one album) still hold up today. Very rare that a band get it so right first time; the clothes, attitude, songs, lyrics and artwork. (Those threatening cut-out ransom note logos).
They changed everything.
Unfortunately didn't change much, not for long anyway.
For a few years people thought- I can be creative too , and think outside the box-
but BBC and society in general are back to being as snotty and dull as ever ( this time political correct chains) and creativity is at an all time low, in fact pre punk was freer than today's morass.
Paul McCartney was number one at the time 1977
Not a great song, but a nice look back at pre invasion, pre "enrichment" Britain.
20 feet from a bonfire Love it , these days there'd be a 100 yards exclusion zone around it policed by yellow vested council workers..

^That song was #1 for about 5 months, iirc. Hopefully, the Mull is now used for nuclear bomb or Anthrax testing.

You'd last about 15 seconds off a wank with that wrist action, got her number or does she do a self help vid? :)

Interesting perspective and read by the Louis himself which is always better than an anonymous mid-atlantic narrator.
Although a few of the chapters are just verbal recounts of what you see when you watch the episodes.
Anyway it spurred me to dig out my LT downloads folder where I stumbled upon the Thai Brides episode and give it another spin after several years.
It is still by far the most cringeworthy and fascinating weird weekend episode. So staggeringly embarrassing that it is almost difficult to watch in one go.
I hope the legendary Lake Palmer is well. I read that he married a flippa in the end after his Thai bride gouged him for 3.5k GBP for air tickets and then never even went to the UK.

Just looking at Morrison and realised i look like a scruffy (Ant word) in the mirror - gone man of the people the last 4 days and need a shave or someone will think maybe i am carrying a bomb. :)
I'm a speed head .. its really all i can dial down from..a life failing if i am honest, try finding a bird .....
Speed, this is what i used have in my head on the RD 400, right up until it went through a hedge without me. My mate hated fast music but it just never let up with me, even down to dexies when you couldn't sort the top note stuff - i was young then, erm 17 but may be it never left me.
repeat sorry

Am i the only one who finds most life boring and trivial even when you live it yourself? Mrs knows this and knows me and rolls her eyes most of the time - she knows me and has for 15 years, knows what i do if i get cornered, this last week has been a shit storm for most people but for me i have lived, horrible it is but i need shit to deal with and shit we have - just a shame its hurting peeps. Its going to hurt most more than me even if it gets me and i don't get to see her again - been speaking about this too. ....and me kids.
Lemmy was just God like back in the late 70's.
