About the time, well at least Page was fighting with his heroin addiction and was sadly out of touch, especially his confidence.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog

Rogers,Plant,Freddie all great BUT could they get as pissed as Shane Macgowan and still do it.The greatest lead singer songwriter ever.

But, I was clicking on some of their songs on Youtube when one video locked my compuer up (Rain; ironically my favourite...) and then it wouldn't reboot...
I've spent the last couple of hours sorting it out; lost all the work that I've been forgetting to back up over the last 6 weeks or so (shitloads...).
Bastard.
Cycling should be banned!!!
Saw The Cult open up for Aerosmith once upon a time.
Ian Astbury may have had an off night, but it was one of the worst singing performances I have ever witnessed. He really butchered those songs that night.
Steven Tyler on the other hand was awesome.

I've seen him 17 times with Southern Death Cult, 132 times with Death Cult/The Cult and once with Rubber Love so I feel qualified to comment.....
Actually he had no early fixation with Morrison, but that started around the time of the Doors movie where he was considered for the leading role. Later of course he actually took the role in the Doors, so I'd say it is fair comment....5555
I must admit I did like his little dabble with UNKLE.
A difficult one this. Jim Morrison probably takes the nomination on the grounds he combined virtuosity with such charisma that he elevated the Doors to a degree far in excess of the sum of its parts, a talent which separates the truly great from the mere journeymen.
Second choice is a toss up between John Kay of Steppenwolf or Stevie Winwood.
Saw Bowie live in the late seventies outdoors in christchurch New Zealand. It was called the stages tour and spawned a live album. When he played Station toStation it was possibly the best thing musically i've seen.Saw him several years later, outdoors again, at VFL Park in melbourne Aus. had to be the worst concert ever.
I was the Cult once. His singing was dreadful. This was at the end of their career when they were relegated to doing small shows in places like Milton Keynes.Originally Posted by Bobcock
