Thread: The Rolling Stones

Some of their stuff is really good, but a lot of it is also really mediocre IMO.

I think they're massively overrated, but I'm sure many will disagree. This is one of the comments beneath the Youtube video below.

My mom died in ‘90 from a brain tumor (cancer). She loved the Stones and couldn’t leave the house without her tapes. I found this out only a few years ago. Funny thing is I’m the same exact way. I wish I could be here and tell her she only had 9 years to live. Maybe she could’ve gone to see them live. Love the Stones. Their music’s helped me get through the roughest times in my life and will continue until the day I die. Love you guys!

Jagger is ever the showman though and they were pulling crowds like this in Arizona 81, so I guess it's just me.



What I will say is Mick has done well to father 76 kids while being the campest man on the planet.

It's like Smeg and his dead girlfriend after he went a bit mental and needed an excuse.
When Smeg was a black paramedic and he watched a child die in his arms after taking paracetamol when Cujo said he gave his kid some.
When his cousin died from issues brought on from a diet regime that Ant or Cujo was doing and was dead within 6 months.
Putting it out there that seeing the shitfesting on TD may have been what finally drove Wally to commit suicide.

There's some sick stones rolling around out there.

context mate, look at what they produced at the time vs the music around them from post war.

Anyway how someone can comment on the best music when most of it came out before they were in nappies is amusing, carry on Hal. Oh and i suspect we'll have 68 posts on the footie threads before sunday comes around

Two Rolling Stones songs I like: Angie and Sympathy for the devil.

to my ears this stones oldie hasnt dated one bit, the sensational brian jones guitar riff is as fresh and powerful as ever.

Angie, Paint it Black etc absolute crackers.

So much other underwhelming stuff though that they've churned out over the years.
