^I've caught the movie several times. You probably saw them in San Fran. Robbie Robertson is pretty much royalty in the music scene.

Just saw a poster for Henry Rollins playing Bangkok on 21st October.

Not iconic, mind, so just posting the info for anyone unfortunate to live in the henhole.

I have seen most of the shows that tax posted up. Great living in the bay area from the late sixties through most of the 70's.

^ A mate has a tattoo of Che Guevara but with the Stone's mouth. Actually looks pretty good. Not that we told him that of course.

those were the days ao, i was in london then and there was a good concert scene there too. tickets were affordable, none of the reseller extortion that seems normal these days and the atmosphere inside the venues was free and easy. and if the concert was sold out, it was usually a simple matter of bunging the geezer on the fire exit a couple of quid to gain entry. yes, those were the days.

Indeed those were the days. The one you have of the Dead with the Sons of Champlain is bring back great memories. At the Avalon, I was old enough to drive so across the Golden Gate bridge we went. I am pretty sure it would have been about $3.50 which was a premium price back then. But you knew the Dead would play 3 hours so all was cool. The Sons were from Marin county and featured Bill Champlain, who went on to play a long while with Chicago. The Golden Gate bridge links Marin and the northern counties like Napa and Sonoma to San Francisco.
