You know how old I am to have seen the Allman Brothers live when there were two brothers?

I went to see Duane Allman in his casket on Halloween night! That’s an anniversary coming up. I dare not count the years.

Holy cow. That was 50 years ago tomorrow. I touched Dwane Allman while he lay in the box on a dare. I was 14.

Now everyone knows how old I really am.

Siren - Roxy Music, was the broadcast on TV I talked my dad into letting us all watch, I was really looking forward to it then when "Love is the Drug" came on he said " nope" and changed the channel. it's a classic.

Me and a couple of friends went to the free Simon & Garfunkel concert at Central park NYC.
It was reported that there were Half a Million people there.
We must have been a mile away from the stage . The sound was great but you could barely see them.
So people started climbing trees to get a better view.
At first it was OK but as more and more people got the same idea, the the trees got full of people below you and you could not get down again.
Well you could get down but not by climbing down LOL
Then the music started and the trees started swaying , add to that that people were drinking and smoking, and every once in a while you would hear.
Aghhhhh. bump, as someone would fall.

Then at the end of the concert , half a million people got up tp leave at the same time.
Let me tell you it was a scary thing, add to it that we were stoned and paranoid.
People behind you, pushing you, people in front of you, people everywhere.
You had no choice where you were going for a while. you just went where the crowd went.
If you fell down, you were dead, because there was no stopping
All and all a great experience. and one for the memories book
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

Yes indeed. looking back at some of the things we did back then it makes you wonder how we survived them.

Nothing wrong with that. but I would add "I still feel like im 22 years old " at times, those were fun times, but i would not trade the confidence and experience I have now for nothing. If I had the cofidence I have noe, back then I would have been king of the world LOL
Great thread, nice trip down memory lane.

I went through my stash and found this record, The Cream of Eric Clapton - 1987 version, still has some old Cream songs on it. White Room and Strange Brew and Sunshine of Your Love. My Faverite was always White room.

And while I was in that era, I didn't really fancy them, but listening to them now, I do believe that they are a classic band in more ways than just being "out there" Ant reminds me of one particular song all the time LOL.
