    Could "The Shifters" Hackett?

After recent discussions and manbag chucking, could "The Shifters" ever be a force to be reckoned with again?

"They've been great for the effects pedal business, but there is only so much yardage a company can get hanging out of a bunghole"

    T
he great and legendary Bob Harris once said of "The Shifters"

"Can they back up their musical vision with anything?

    I believe they can".

    They probably crawl on carpets.

Liquid Len, bastard drummer from the Smashbottle men, was more direct.
He quoted a direct quote from a quote.

"There is lambswool under my naked feet
The wool is soft and warm, gives off some kind of heat
A salamander scurries into flame to be destroyed
Imaginary creatures are trapped in birth on celluloid

The fleas cling to the golden fleece hoping they'll find peace
Each thought and gesture are caught in celluloid
There's no hiding in my memory
    There's no room to avoid

The crawlers cover the floor in the red ocher corridor
For my second sight of people, they've more lifeblood than before
They're moving in time to a heavy wooden door
Where the needle's eye is winking, closing in on the poor

The carpet crawlers heed their callers
"We've got to get in to get out
We've got to get in to get out
We've got to get in to get out"

There's only one direction in the faces that I see
It's upward to the ceiling, where the chamber's said to be
Like the forest fight for sunlight that takes root in every tree
They are pulled up by the magnet believing they're free

The carpet crawlers heed their callers
"We've got to get in to get out
We've got to get in to get out
We've got to get in to get out"

Mild mannered supermen are held in kryptonite
And the wise and foolish virgins giggle with their bodies glowing bright
Through a door a harvest feast is lit by candlelight
It's the bottom of a staircase that spirals out of sight

The carpet crawlers heed their callers
"We've got to get in to get out
We've got to get in to get out
We've got to get in to get out"

The porcelain manikin with shattered skin fears attack
The eager pack lift up their pitchers, they carry all they lack
The liquid has congealed which has seeped out through the crack
And the tickler takes his stickleback

The carpet crawlers heed their callers
"We've got to get in to get out
We've got to get in to get out
We've got to get in to get out"

We've got to get in to get out
We've got to get in to get out
We've got to get in to get out
We've got to get in to get out

The carpet crawlers heed their callers
"We've got to get in to get out
We've got to get in to get out"

Withnall is waxing lyrical again, and it's not even Friday night.

    It is now.

    Have this:-

Mr. Wakeman applied for a job in "The Shifters".

"They told me to fuck off and buy a trumpet or a clarinet and shove it up my arse" said a bandy legged musical bottomed Rick.

"I was turned down by better bands.
My audition for Elton Johns part went well."

I have found inspiration, Stoker (ordered it last week, so it should arrive soon): a new amp! I was jamming with me mate, Frank, and he suggested it to me.

&, I can now play all the way through this song without stopping (sometimes):

I've also got two new distortion pedals, so we'll be needing to get out of the Blues and into some Thrash Punk!

MXR La Machine does the fuzz octave thing just like Jimi, so we're nearly there, we're on our way - I can feel it in my waters! Get the Bumpet tuned up...

How has your creative forces been foregrounding themselves recently, Bumpet? We need new material - what you got?

I'm liking the idea of covering New Rose (above) with the twist that it sounds eggasckery the same as the original, just with more distortion and make-up! Like it?

She has the unusual attraction of looking like a corpse while still be alive - could be a very interesting experiment in New Wave Necrophilia.

No Artic Monkies or Northerners of any sort...

Marvelous lyrics right there, written and sung by Gabriel. Phil should have stuck to the drums tbf.

A psychadelic dream inspired composition, the whole Lamb.

I've written some new material for The Shifters.

    It wasn't difficult.

We haven't got any old material.
