Not sure what this is about but North is North.
Never really understood the northern soul moniker. Isn't it just soul that was played in northern discos in the 70's?
There is a debate in some quarters in Pattaya about what Northern Soul music is.
I tend to think this music come from the Tamla Motown studios and pre-1970.
I was always led to believe, they were Motown songs (and other labels) that failed to break the charts in the states. They were subsequently shipped over to the UK where they sold in the cheapo bin. From here northern soul was born.
