    In no particular order:

    The Snake. (Al Wilson).
Out on the Floor. (Dobie Grey).
    I'm Your Pimp. (The Skullsnaps).
    Night Owl. (Bobby Paris).
Loving on the Losing Side. (Tommy Hunt)
Pebble on the Beach. (Toby Legend)
Ghost in My House (R Dean Taylor)

And many more, plus hundreds of Tamla Motown sounds.

KTF! You know who you are!

Never really understood the northern soul moniker. Isn't it just soul that was played in northern discos in the 70's?

There is a debate in some quarters in Pattaya about what Northern Soul music is.

I tend to think this music come from the Tamla Motown studios and pre-1970.

Not strictly Tamla Motown, other labels such as Stax and Chess were prominent.

I was always led to believe, they were Motown songs (and other labels) that failed to break the charts in the states. They were subsequently shipped over to the UK where they sold in the cheapo bin. From here northern soul was born.

The Mecca was Wigan Casino a small town between Manchetsr and Leeds its all nighters were legendary.

While London had their mods with tonic shirts and scooters tehNorth was dance led

The infamous Torch club in Tunstall in the finest City in the world.
The five towns now including Withnallsburg are collectively known as

STOKE -ON-TRENT as any connoisseur of urinal willl know

In addition to Pedigree Ale ,Tunstall offers spectacular views of Longport Lake the Burslem Rviera and unparalleled vistas of the spoil heaps of Norton baddely Chell and Kidsgrove,Ofen overlooked by American tourists the area beyond including TheRoaches where I myself was a Wallaby herder in 1976,Ludd's chapel as described in the first English novel Sir Gawain and The green night.

It also offers easy access for those who wish to slum it in the third world sprawl of the West Midlands, the favelas of Mancheser and the depths of Scouseland. For the truly adventuress visits to the hilll tribes of North Wales and Derbyshire may be arranged where amongst the Bakewell Tarts there is rumoured to be the lost virgin.
