Suggestions and ideas needed for a 1960s style room

I'm currently in the process of clearing out the dining room in my house and im looking to convert it to a shrine to the 1960s.

This isn't gonna be done in a cheesy way.

I literally want it to be like entering a time warp when you set foot in the room.

Money is not really an issue, more originally and taste.

Any ideas and pics or links would be appreciated.

I need to get my finger out and get this project rolling faster hence this thread.
    Shalom

    ...and toasting forks!

Don't fancy a coal fireplace but as for music then definitely a vinyl turntable.

True enough, they were all those deck in a suitcase dansette types.

One of those electric fires could work, not the one bar jobs though.

Considering one of these egg chairs, but how comfy are they and do they warrant the high price?? Pretty cool though!

    Good God no!!!!

Reminds me off Coronation Street in the Eighties, although I'm sure Hal would concur with your suggestion.

Plus take out the central heating and fit a circuit breaker to randomly introduce regular power cuts.

You should be getting ice inside your windows during the winter, for a realistic 60s experience.

Did people *really* have lava lamps in the 60s then?

I had begun to think it was just something you saw in the films.

I think Christine has passed her sell by mate , but such classic retro furniture, Ercol or Schreiber 3 piece sideboard with Mackeson Stones Ginger Wine Advocat, Wincarnis and Sanatogen.

As money no object I'll pm my invoice ( tea and wodge Chester may 28!)

Lived near bath where Charles Eames iconic Recliner and Ottoman made, sold mine for 10x what I paid when i left UK in 97, wish i hadnt tried to buy a brace in C Mai , no go, the whte leather ones are are astronomical since used on Sharktank aka Drogon's Den USA

Nev beat ne to 3 ducks , Capo Di Monte figurines, Toppo Gigio, Gonks and Psychedelic posters and hand carved Wooden stags seemed de rigeur while aTretchikoff trippy picwas common down the nesh end,
My auntie had a ceramic Tortoise lift the shell ashtray, while the wro gside of the tracks was the push and spin for a no 6 or a Woodbine astubbing!

No student aod complete without Ms haemarhoids?

There's a shop near 12 Ungasse Vienna (5 min from Station ) and another gem in Ibis hotel alley nearby, sells antique classic retro gear like dial phones Chewing Gum machines et al, Last time i visted most UK sink towns have thrift stores/garage sals where totting has become the new beggary.

The lava lamp is on order Kitty!

Acquired this mint corner leather sofa with a recliner for the princely sum of £170, took a few trips in the convertible to get it home and almost gave me a hernia but boy is it comfortable!

Good catch for those evenings in covered in caramel Nesquick

or with Bradford Sterrt B'Ham's finest

    BIRD"S instant Whip

I think some rabbit ears on a retro TV cabinet with doors (you can open to reveal your 60s Bar those breast shape champagne glasses that let all the bubbles out,

Some "Vintage" Babycham or for 3 holers a Cherry B (all made by the Mendip Mafia Showerings to dispose of ferret tainted apples and pears,

I know the guys who did the Toucan ads and using a chamois in the Bambi era was a dream ad for what was in essence gassed pear residue , but sold in 1/3 pint sniftas as a sweet alcopop for the Ladeez , never ever saw a bloke order one .
My step father had the largest pub in town at the time and it was a best seller , low tax big mark up for tiny portions, so dear yet so far, Experts plied their dates with the much much stronger Barley Wines like Gold Label aka "Legopener" back in the day.

Suggestions and ideas needed for a 1960s style room-download-jpg

Cherry B was I think Tomato soup residue with Red X!

Suggestions and ideas needed for a 1960s style room-b-jpg

As on the verge of grabagranny Stones Ginger Whine for monaers
Egg flip for rear entry and of course Port and Lemon for TG Verandah curious!
