Bryson is a brilliant writer. I'd like to get some of his ebooks on audio with him doing the voice.

anyone who uses a tablet for reading is a bit mad

once people have spent their £300/£400/£500 on an ipad or expensive tablet, they feel they have to do everything with it, whether it does the job well or not

the fact you can get a decent e-reader for less than £30 doesn't come into it

    absolutely great for kids

I find the white on black setting on my tablet works fine and I have no eye-strain issues with it.

I like the book readers cos they are matte screen, nothing worse than catching a reflection of my ugly mug mid story.
also they are very light to hold -
    .
The best new one seems to be the kobo Aura HD , has a 6.8 inch screen -kindles 6, I think .
reads epub and had Sd card slot too .

Blue - did you torrent UFC 168?

Anderson Silva totally broke his leg. It was gross. He has very weak pouffy homo legs.

yeh i downloaded it - ultra carefull not to read any torrent spoiler comments,
or not to log into TD or read any news website etc , I had the previous one ruined by a person the boxing thread .
Then just before watching it, I logged into youtube , I forgot it knows I'm a bloodthirsty swine, and before I knew it, I had read
silva breaks leg in huge letters in the recommended videos.
    ......

When Silva was writhing around on the floor sighing and moaning, I never feel so erotic since Brian Clough kissed that boy on live television.

    there's nothing wrong with it

but it's not as good as a reader

and it uses battery all the time you're reading

surely it's only a matter of time before someone invents a tablet that can change into "reader" mode

Here's another free / safe ebook site, sometimes useful for hard to find books.

you can only download a few books a day , more if you sign in .
Electronic library. Download books free. Finding books

for a format converter I use
    calibre - E-book management

    eg -
    input epub
    output mobi
click page setup and choose output profile to match your device

you can also change the cover during the conversion with one from google images etc.

it will have a go at converting pdf files too , but no converter seems expert at that task.

I'm still debating on getting a kindle or the like.

I still read paperback books? Am I odd?

Not many of them, I'd wager.

You getting a kindle would be a bit like stephen hawking getting football boots.
