Cracking cover versions

Keith Richards tell us in his autio biography that his manager locked him and Mick in the kitchen to start writing their own songs.

He explains that up until very recently there was no such thing as the singer song writer. Songs were written by one group of artists and played by all types of musicians who brought their own interpretation to the music. These songs were called 'Standards' and can be heard and played many different ways.

So post covers of songs which you like the interpretation of and share the wealth of creativity. This lot did a great job with a Lou Read song - Perfect Day

So many bands have covered songs over the years. Some of the covers are better than the original, and some have been oriented to a different audience as time has gone on. Some have worked and some are just rubbish.

All is to the listeners ear as the eye is to the beholder.
Post the cover with the original if you feel the cover worked. I will start with a classic from Ram Jam.
