A lively tune for Sunday morning.
A few tunes which refer to Jamaica's history.
One from Burning Spear.
And another from Culture.

Sun's going down. Time for a chill-out tune. I think I'll float down the River Perry.
Here's another sundowner from Augustus Pablo and Lee Perry.
And another from Lee Perry.
This song is possibly about a ghost story, possibly not.
Whatever, although credited to Bob Marley, it is actually by the Wailers, with Bob Marley on lead vocals, Peter Tosh on vocal harmony and keyboard, Bunny Livingstone (Bunny Wailer) on vocal harmony and ghostly vocals.
A Lee Perry production.

One of my pals sent me a cassette through the post years ago. (To date myself...) He said, I know you like Reggae, have a listen to this. It was a Jungle compilation, and absolutely splendid. The cassette's long gone, as have the memories of what was on it, but then, listening to some Jungle tunes on YouTube, I heard this and it's one of the lost tunes.
This wasn't on it, but could've been.

King Tubby was another fine Reggae producer. Here are a couple of his tunes.
Here's an early tune from Mikey Dread, (credited as Michael Campbell), followed by the version from King Tubby. (Nice and crackly).
A song from Dr Alimantado, referring to him going to a King Tubby sound system dance, complete with the King Tubby version.

A short but sweet dub to finish. Curiously, the beginning sounds something like techno, 12 years before the event.
I like this old version of
You don't love me - Dawn Penn
196o's I think ?
must be 25+ years since i played a real record , good job i stopped too- i used to scratch them silly..
still i miss the therapeutic value of watching them etc
Lenny Kravitz - Fly Away
Rockish but in the ballpark.
Short on leg, big on tunes.
Half Pint, (Lindon Roberts), comes from an area in West Kingston called Rose Lane, from which came Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Peter Tosh, Lee Perry, Toots Hibbert and more.
He continues the musical tradition.
An excellent scene from The Rockers movie. Leroy Horsemouth Wallace, (there's a name), has had his motorbike stolen, so he goes to visit Burning Spear to tell him the news. He went to the right man to help him feel more positive.
A tune from Leroy, written and produced by Lee Perry.
