    Alvin Lee

    Real Life Blues lyrics

    Songwriters: LEE, ALVIN

So much trouble in the world
I can't watch or read the news
It brings me down so bad baby
When I read the daily blues

So much heartache in the world
All the sickness and the war
Keep my head down in the sand
'Cause I just can't take no more

    I'm talking 'bout trouble
Too many reasons for the blues
    I'm talking trouble
It's time we had some better news
[ Lyrics from: Alvin Lee - Real Life Blues Lyrics ]
So much fighting in the world
God and country leads to war
They say we fight for peace
But I just can't take no more

So much killing in the world
    Terrorist victims by the score
So much trouble in the world, baby
But I just can't take no more

    I'm talking 'bout trouble
Too many reasons for the blues
    I'm talking trouble
It's time we had some better news

    I'm talking 'bout trouble
Too many reasons for the blues
    I'm talking trouble
It's time we had some better news, yeah

Alvin Lee - Real Life Blues Lyrics

I was going to paste this in 'favorite vids' but it will do here.. not sure if you would call it the blues perhaps on the back end of a major speed comedown he might slow it down enough to be the blues.. pretty amazing even though theres' a lot of duff notes in there.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

white men sound so pathetic playing blues, it's just not the real deal. Jimi in a recording studio in London on a cold Autumn day in 1967.

Big Maceo, somewhat better than the crappy Clapton version:

One of the best, seems to be a segregated audience back then

Big Bill, used to listen to this stuff 30 years ago on bluebird label (except Jimi) wonderful music.

Daughter of Renowned Saxophonist Jimmy Greene among the deceased in Newtown Shootings.

This message appeared on Jimmy Greenes’s Facebook Page: “Thank you for all of your prayers and kind words of support. As we work through this nightmare, we’re reminded how much we’re loved and supported on this earth and by our Father in heaven. As much as she’s needed here and missed by her mother, brother and me, Ana beat us all to paradise. I love you sweetie girl..”

The entire American Blues Scene is grieving with the Greenes and all of the other families in Newtown, Conn at this time of incredible loss.

From Greene’s 2009 disc Mission Statement, here is his song Ana Grace. May she rest in peace.

I like listening to those internet radio stations but its hard to find the songs afterwards
    such as
I Asked Her If She Loved Me - by Henry townsend ,
Don't get mad At me - Elmore James jnr .

I'll have to start recording the whole time and cut out the ones i like .

Founded as America’s first blues publication in Chicago in 1970, Living Blues magazine has set the standard for blues journalism around the world.

From its first issue featuring blues legend Howlin’ Wolf on the cover, Living Blues has provided fans with insightful, in-depth stories on such legendary blues artists as Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Koko Taylor, and John Lee Hooker.

In addition, Living Blues focuses on true creative originals like Otha Turner, Chris Thomas King, and Super Chikan, artists often overlooked by other blues press.

Every week Sirius Satellite Radio has a segment they call Rockers doing the Blues. Last week Sirius played an old blues song done by Aerosmith:

Last year about this time we were in New York. The girlfriend walked into the concert hall and the first thing she asked,………What’s that funny smell? When she left the building she told me it was first time she had ever heard real musicians playing live.

Warren Haynes (of Gov't Mule) starts at about 1:10 into the video (I took while at the concert):
