    Heavy metal music

Where is a nice place in Bangkok or Pattaya to listen to heavy metal music?

In may a friend of me is coming with me and we both like this kind of music a lot. I know there must be some places but his wife wouldn't tell us because she doesn't like the music.

My apartment as well as my car are always a good place to listen to heavy metal but they both stay behind in Germany.

I used to know a while back, but venues keep changing.
There is the "Rock Cafe" opposite the Asia Hotel on Phaya Thai has been going for years, the 'heavy metal' rarely is what you'd expect but the closest Thai version.

"Metal Zone" on Lang Suan was the best, long-haired, leather-clad Thais and defeaning sound, but it closed a couple of years back, don't know if it re-opend, the rather impressive sculptured entrance was still there last time I passed.

    Both live-venues.

There used to be an "Ozzy's" on RCA.

I found this in a directory published this month (doesn't mean it's open though).

Thanks, will check that out. Maybe we could do an informal teakdoor night out to check these venues out?

Scooter, how does it feel to be such an ignorant idiot?
So what kind of music do you listen to? I bet that must be some funny stuff.

By the way, normally I wear formal attire during daytime.

i think youd find that metal is quite popular- albiet a popularity that is a bit hidden.

a lot of thais under the age of say 27 or so-- a lot love hard music and harder rap.

but as an industry, asia backs off the aggressive scenes as far as bars go. sometimes, its not a heavy metal bar, but a bar where metal heads frequent. for that info- you gotta be there to meet 'em.

i too fancy metal every now and then. when i travel ill always stop by a place that seems to cater to that crowd. i look like a skinny midget biker, so i fit in well there

good luck mate. post anything you learned from that excursion!

I imagine that's a problem for a mod in Thailand.

Alright, no problem then. I think I took you too serious.
