I am currently using a Olympus E-510, I have several old lenses that I use with adaptors. I was just wondering what everyone else uses?

I've used Canon's for many years, starting with the (very) old A1. Also used to do a lot of film processing/developing, but got fed up of doing favours for people, so dropped the interest in photography for quite a few years. Came back into the fold a couple of years ago, and now have a Canon EOS 1Ds Mk 3 (heavy SOB! but brilliant), and a Canon EOS 5D. The lenses I use (all L series), are 16-35mm, 24-105mm, 70-300mm (DO), 100-400mm, and a really nice and fast (1.2) 85mm.
I'm using NikonD80
I'm rolling with a Canon 400D with kit lens 18-55mm a Sigma 70-300mm APO DG and a nifty fifty, a EF 50mm f/1.8 MK II. The 50mm is an absolute cracking lens for such little dollar. It's a blast to use.
a six year old coolpix 8400, with a cracking 24-75 lens. and am looking at repalcing it with the new coolpix p 7000 or canon powershot g-12.
(ive also got a nikon f-80 35mm film camera body with a nikkor 20mm f-1:2.8D, a nikkor 28-105 1:3.5/4.5D and a nikkor 50mm 1:1.8........... for sale, all sensible offers considered !)
Canon 550D with 18-135 mm EF-S lens.
GF's pet Juno.
Painting on wood platter hanging on the terrace.
I'm looking to upgrade to a 550D. Is the HD video mode any good?
^
Only used it a little bit, but seems perfectly fine, so good that I would not consider buying a video cam separate for the video shooting I do.
I have a Canon Eos Rebel X (film) and I'm looking for an adapter so I can use my old Canon AE1 lenses on it. The AE1 doesn't work any more but I have 5 lenses that I would like to try on the Eos. Anyone know where in Thailand to get the adapter?
Eliminator
1986 Kawasaki 900
canon ixus 100is, fits lovely in the pocket, takes great pics and video
i just got a cannon too, a small powershot A3000 , takes nice photos ,especialy if i press the shutter in 2 stages,
bright 2.7 lens
The kit... Will soon be upgrading though....
I'm kickin' it large with a Nokia 3110 C..it's sock rockin'..
At least you can carry it in your pocket.
A sad sight is a happy snapper carrying a late model DSLR with a budget far outweighing their meagre compositional aesthetic.
I am keeping it real with a Canon 300d standard twin lens kit.
Had an Olympus OM10 for years and it was great but the GF of the day took ownership at close of play and I've had various point and shoots since which suit my modest talents. I really liked the Casio Exilim models which were packed with features although currently I've a Panasonic Lumix DMC thingy which sports a rather good Leica lens.
The Missus however has recently taken delivery of a Pentax K-r which comes with 18-55 and a 55-300 lenses. Needless to say, I've got my eye on it...
de gustibus non est disputandum
I'm currently using a Canon Powershot A480 point and shoot, but when I come to Thailand in January I'll be getting a Nikon D3100 or similiar (duty free shopping).
Canon 60D - it rocks
I just got a Panasonic Lumix DMC FX78.
Beautiful little compact. slips in the top pocket or a belt pouch leaving hands free. Bugger lugging around a great big kit with spare lenses.
24-120 mm zoom, 12MP. Bloody brilliant.
F2.5-5.9 5x zoom lens starting at 24mm. The 12.1MP camera features a large 3.5" touch screen LCD with Touch zoom, AF tracking, shutter and playback capabilities. It also offers full 1080 HD recording in AVCHD format and a 3D Mode that produces a 3D photo in .MPO format by taking 20 consecutive photos and overlaying the two best into a 3D image. This can be played back on MPO-compatible equipment such as a televisions, digital photo frames and printers.
I just use an Olympus T100. It does me fine.
Wow! An old thread! I still use my E-510 but I must say that I really like my Sanyo Xcacti 1080p vid/camera that can also shoot pics...
I've heard this type of camera ridiculed many times and it always baffles me. How else is one supposed to take a fucking photograph?Originally Posted by alwarner
to take the photo you ultimately point and click with any camera but the a "point and click" as opposed to an SLR that is all you do. No choosing F Stop or any other carry on, point it and away you go. Enough for me, but I can see why people get more from more advanced cameras.
