My first time in Siam 05

This was my 1st time of going to the Land of smiles as they call it. for that month we were there, we didnt see a great lot, although we never rushed it either. Also my photo skills wasn't that crash hot so most of my earlier photos are just memories. Here is a seletion of photo's and the locations in sept 05. after leaving Bangkok, we went to Ayutthya. i'm pretty sure most of you have been there.

i Don't know where these were, but i do remember some Japanese tourists from Ayutthya

    Had a foot massage

Then took a ride back to Bangkok...as you do. Get drunk and leave your ATM card in the ATM machine.......as you do. 6 days later met Shane in Chiang Mai where we did a 4x4 trip with 22 Israelis. [never again]

    Shane

we look like a couple of spare pricks at a wedding!

    Kiss Kiss

Never seen so much rain in all my life. was a great experince!

You know all those years learning stuuf at school about long neck tribes, i completly forgot about when i went backpacking in Asia, and then i met my only long neck girl. sure, it feels like its all make believe, cos i havent seen any long neck tribes since

the trip with Thana 4x4 is abit hazy. i know i left Chiang Mai and ended up in the golden triangle, so i would guess i was in the Mai Hong Song area. i have never been back there since.

    Golden Triangle.

next stop, Laos. [for 20 mins]

it was another year after this photo was taken that we both visited Loas proper. why we missed it that time around i dont know.

sampled some snake wine. great stuff!!

took a shotcut into a hill tribe village. i never asked why then, but now, some 3 years later, i noticed Burmese paint their faces with tanaka powder, so i wonder if these kids are thai/burmese too.

    stand in a line please!

    bummer!

after that, saw a Khmer temple in Phimai, Khorat, then went to Cambodia

    Great pics!

I saw these at my wife's granddads funeral but in picture form. I think that they are supposed to represent the different kinds of hell (or hell as we think of it) that can happen to you if you commit sins.

I cant remember them very well except the last one which is the hell that you get for committing adultery. Climbing naked up a thorny tree which animals trying to eat your bits for the rest of eternity!
