Bangsaen Nong Mon Market

Nong Mon Market is on Sukhumvit Road between the Bangsaen turn offs, as Bangsaen is a sea side town the market sells just about every dried sea animal you can think of and some you probably would rather not think of, it also sells the local delicacies that are baked in bamboo and also stuff in banana leaves.

Due to every one stopping there and congesting the traffic if your traveling between Bangkok and Pattaya you can use the Nong Mon bypass if you want to give it a miss.

If you haven't seen this sort of thing before it is worth a stop, if you have a Thai with you the odds are you will be made to stop to buy some snacks anyway.





Roasted or bbq stuff in banana leaves.

Not sure what sort of fish these are, have a bit of juice in the bag at the bottom and they charge around 250baht a fish.

Bang Saen is famous for this cake type thing, half a dozen shophouses with half a dozen commercial ovens making these by the hundred, got to admit never tried these.



Dried shrimp and dried squid sold by the kilo, must be about 50 shops selling this, also they have the dried squid in different sauces just to make a change.

Thailand isn't all just about sex and whores smeg, some people come here for the temples and culture, anyway I was working too hard so was too knackered.

Sorry, misread the title. Thought it might be bang saen mussel market. The product smells similar to the one covered above.

Actually sticky rice and black bean... thai snack that as usual has its idiosyncrasies depending on the location. Actually not bad.

Behind Nong Mon is the fresh food market, this goes along a road running parallel to Sukhumvit, really narrow and congested because half of them set up shop in the road.

Fresh fruit.



Dead fresh sea animals.



Ducks without feathers but with the delicious bits like heads and feet.



This doesn't look too bad.



They got some real big fish there.



And of course vegetable stalls, sort of.
