Carved Lounge Suites

I want to buy one of those beautiful big lounge suites elaborately carved with elephants and things...

yesterday i looked at one place near my new house here in Nonthaburi..

twas 7 pieces including two 3-seaters plus 2 single seaters plus 2 small tables plus large coffee table..each piece carved...

quoted price was 70.000 baht...cvnt dropped to 60k as soon as i walked away...

got me thinking...if he can drop 10k first hit, what are they really worth...

anyone?

Frankie..you seem to have all the inside gen on these matters up there in CM...would it be worth buying up there and shipping to Bkk?

Yes it would, but you still have to be careful not to get ripped off.

It is worth it. But llike MtD said you've got to sharp to not get ripped. Some places will attempt to sell to you for western prices. I know a few places....
You get up here we can hunt around for you.

u also gotta be careful they dont use green wood and then stain it to look old when they build it - cos in a few weeks/months when it dries out properly it cracks and warps all over the joint!

Been a while. But I seem to remember one of thse sets, somethng similar wth padded sitting and backs for about 40K, the set; at first blush. Not exactly sure what it is you're lookin for but Yes yo can save a bit when buyin up here. We could possibly visit a factory show room or two. Or we could hit the back streets where the "factory" really is.
